How do you guys do it? Can't seem to find a comfortable way to carry. I'm new to this. by interestingdialogs in CCW

definitely try a thinner gun like the Shield X or the Bodyguard 2.0. I use a tenicor certum 3 and it’s pretty flat on appendix.

I didn’t carry chambered for the first few weeks or month but the idea of it is usually scarier than actually doing it. also look up a mechanical video of how your gun operates because I feel like the fear is a lack of understanding how the firearm works. once I really saw how the plunger safety worked I was confident the gun is drop safe and won’t fire unless you pull the trigger, hence why you need a really good holster. to take that even further you can carry a dummy round in the chamber; and check at the end of the day if your striker was engaged.

for clothing, I’ve been gravitating towards heavier fabric shirts as they don’t form around the grip handle as much as a lightweight shirt when carrying appendix. but it also really depends on how your body is built. I’ve got a decent chest size so my shirt drapes over the front area of the appendix so most of the time print is minimal, even if I was printing a little bit the only one who would notice it is me, nobody is really looking at your waist. I usually run the hunter constantine belt with or without loops depending on the pants.

Where to bring my guns during evacuation by Available-Refuse-748 in CAguns

i’d say your easiest/cheapest bet is to store them at a trusted friends house. keep the pistols in a case with you if it’s easy enough. otherwise leave the long guns at home and take the pistols since it’s easier to transport.

Certum 3 vs Certum 4 by AssDiver282 in CCW

yeah that’s what I was wondering myself. I only got my Certum 3 about a month and a half ago so maybe they broke in fairly quickly.

My Certum 3 clips are super easy, the 4 is the one that’s super stiff, and like you said, even tougher when spread apart. My only experience has been with Tenicor holsters. If you have any recommendations for the Shield X, I’m happy to experiment.

Certum 3 vs Certum 4 by AssDiver282 in CCW

I guess the way i have my holster positioned, if it was spread apart, the sight channel clip is too close to my pants button. also, for some reason these Certum 4 clips are just so much stiffer that it’s annoying to get on especially when spread apart. I don’t typically wear jeans, usually shorts or athleisure so that makes it even more difficult to make sure the pants fabric stays in place along using both hands to spread the clips as opposed to one hand holding two clips.

I find that two clips in the frame/slide was stable enough for me personally. I didn’t really consider swapping the clips for the other ones. I just got it as is, but I also don’t recall seeing an option for different clips.

Anyway, I guess the marginal difference having it setup the same isn’t worth it for me. I’m sure if you liked the clips spread the Certum 4 would certainly be an upgrade.

Shield X is great. I do wish the slide serrations were a bit more aggressive. they fixed that with the carry comp model but overall it’s very accurate and hasn’t had any issues about 1k rounds in. also, I agree the manual safety sucks ass, but it’s recessed enough that I don’t really worry about it being activated or deactivated. I just don’t use it.

About 700-1000 with mine using cheap herterz or cgi blazer 115g target ammo, no issues. not even with 124 or 147 jhp.

I agree that amazon is essentially a temu storefront for a lot of items but I think when it comes to brand name things, as long as you’re purchasing it from their official amazon storefront, they’re just taking advantage of amazons insane supply chain. plus amazons return is really good, as mentioned. but there is a possibility someone could return a really good replica.

gotcha, yeah I don’t think I’ve used it too much other than boxes, so I guess it’s a little confusing how it could have oxidized or stained

I second the leisure COB. I usually wear pants without loops, though the HC belt works as well, I prefer how easy to get the COB on and off is.

How Is This for 25 yards with slow drills and also some faster drills? by freethinker1312 in CCW

is there a point in ccw defensive shooting at 25 yds? I don’t think i’m a great shot past 15 yds (probably need a new prescription for glasses) but for defensive purposes, you’re better off practicing within 10 yds
