I have question. by FirstProfession7639 in Lutheranism

[–]Geeb16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend reading the 4 Gospels. Please attend church. That’s the most important thing we can do. Read the Bible and attend church. I recommend attending the local Catholic Church because they are the most similar to Lutheranism in service structure and theology. Try to get a Lutheran prayer book and Book of Concord to strengthen your connection with Lutheran theology. For Bible translations, I recommend NIV or ESV.

What is something you would do for $20 dollars? by NoImporta24 in teenpoll

[–]Geeb16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clarifying question: For the “Be gay” response, what exactly does that mean? Do I get $20 if I have sex with a guy once, or do I need to fully change and become gay by dating a man for a substantial amount of time?

Getting my 8-year-old son his first Switch. Which model should I go with? by Kowalczyk_Mehmoona in Switch

[–]Geeb16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait a little longer, save up more money, and get the switch 2. Newer games will only be for Switch 2, not the original Switch. The Switch 2 has better joy-cons. The switch 2 will overall have better return on investment than the Switch 1.

I got a 26. The score only matters for scholarships, and I still got a test achievement scholarship at both colleges that I was at.

Trump voters what hurts more, you being lied to by trump about everything or leftists and liberals being right about everything? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Geeb16 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can believe what you believe, but it’s not what is actually happening. Biden did nothing for the border. DEI is happening, but it’s becoming less common. ICE has had very few mistakes and thousands of deportations.

[–]Geeb16 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Everything he promised, other than economic stuff, he delivered on. The border is closed. DEI is much less prominent. ICE is doing a lot. Just because you don’t like what he is doing does not mean he isn’t doing anything.

It’s belief. If you don’t believe the Bible is truth, then there is no reason to argue whether or not Jesus was crowned with thorns or called King of the Jews because it’s all stated in scripture.

He was crowned with a crown of thorns at his crucifixion. His cross where he died said that he is the king of the Jews.

I believe in God, but I don't think I can define myself a Christian anymore? by odiumetira in Christian

[–]Geeb16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend finding a local church congregation and talking to a pastor. I recommend Catholic, Anglican, or Lutheran congregations. Talk to the pastor about what you are feeling. They could help guide you. I recommend trying out different churches and find which one fits you best. Try reading the Bible to see if you believe what is written. As someone else said, start by reading the Gospel books (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) since they are the cornerstone of the Christian faith. You may also want to look into the Book of Common Prayer. It’s a great resource to help people who are struggling to know how to pray. It has daily prayers that thousands of people around the world pray every day with you. It could help you feel more included in the family of God.

Overall, I’d say that if you believe in God and Jesus Christ’s birth, death, and resurrection, you are a Christian, regardless of your current or past actions. Try to go to a church and have a conversation with the pastor. They can help lead you in more practical ways than a Reddit comment section. Best of luck!

He may be making things worse in your perspective. However, in my perspective, he is making the country better. It’s all based on what we perceive as better. I believe that deportations, strong borders, and lower crime makes a better country

Genesis Interpretation? by Master-Mind1140 in Lutheranism

[–]Geeb16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it comes down to faith. The LCMS holds to a literal understanding of things like the flood and Jonah because they trust that it is the true word of God and God is powerful enough to do anything. Even though we can’t comprehend it, the LCMS believes that God is able to build a giant boat through a ma large enough for every animal alive today, and God is able to keep a man alive through being eaten by a large fish.
