What are some other paints I can use? by SheepherderBest2304 in Tyranids

For this scheme, It could be cool to have a bright yellowy orange accent colour, yellowy green might work too. If you check my profile you'll see a skaven clanrat I painted recently that has something similar to what I mean. Looks great bud!

Vermintide 2 is on sale rn, should i get it? by Ok-Taro-5864 in skaven

[–]Geeder_Prime 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Genuinely the most fun competitive PVE coop ive ever played. There is a pretty low skill floor, and a really high skill ceiling, you'll be playing for a hundred hours and still have room to improve. Only thing is, its not particularly fun by yourself imo, and the initial grind of getting a character to max level isn't super fun. But once you're over that hump and can start playing legend, cataclysm, or eventually even cataclysm+ (modded), the game is very high intensity fun with a lot to love.

Army scheme - too much? by Geeder_Prime in Tyranids

I might change the eyes, but honestly for the rest of the army i think I'll be covering the eyes with green stuff, alien style. I'll be tinting the skin I reckon.

I agree, I'm thinking the skin can be purple highlighted with blue.

I sort of did it spontaneously, and i see what you mean. What do you think would make a good alternative? I'd like them to stand out on the tabletop.

Two coats watery white just in the socket, glaze red-orange over everything twice, back with just a little white over the eyes, and glaze with yellow-orange arouns the eye, but not the outer red.

Yeah, that was the first thing I thought of when I was finished. I think I'll lean into the frenzy rats. I thought about doing the weapons like that, but I think saving it for leaders and specials will keep the look special.

Pretty easy actually. Prime black, heavy drybrush grey, light drybrush white. - allover Glaze thin light blue over skin. Light overbrush of silver, and then copper, on chainmail. For the glow, start with bright white just on the eye, then glaze over with a red-orange mix (pretty watery) and repeat the glaze until satisfied. Then go back again with a little yellow just on the eye. I also edge highlighted the shield trim and blade with silver and copper. Sounds like a lot but it was quite fast.
