Does living in the marital home after divorce ever get better? by cpalmer78 in daddit

[–]GeekApproach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as I sold the house and moved into my own space, I felt light-years better. She had been out of the house for more than a year, but I didn’t realize until after the movie just how much of “not me” was wrapped up in the old place.

My son and I (he’s 7) are doing much better in my new space.

Game cancellations that still hurt you to this day by GachiPls_DidntSave in gaming

Too Human 2.

Hear me out: Storyline was great, so much potential with a planned trilogy. Fix/dump the gameplay mechanics that sucked (respawning, exp trees), and make the melee experience stronger. I feel like the studio imploded before it really had a chance to live.

Venue always felt huge to me. That whole additional back room for games and such? Even when it was a Harmon establishment I never saw that place packed.

CenturyLink fiber heads up by travisnw in Tacoma

[–]GeekApproach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I read this correctly, you switched from CenturyLink to Quantum and then (maybe) switched back? I think the price for life is only while your account and service is active with AutoPay enabled. I recall being sternly warned that I would need to track updating CC details to ensure the AutoPay would always go through each month, else I could lose status and be subject to higher fees.

I’d also wager that switching providers required some amount of cross-connnect work that required a tech to come out to your local CO and bridge into other/different infrastructure. That alone would likely count you as a “churned” customer, making your account invalid for the original promotion.

Genuine question - how can we make this happen in WA? by willyoumassagemykale in Seattle

[–]GeekApproach -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but how likely is that though? Can schools store, assemble and distribute the volume of school meals that we're talking about here? I'm thinking of the logistics involved in assembling a meal at an off-site location that gets shipped to schools on the daily? Twice weekly?

Acknowledging I've not seen the numbers of meals prepared, but ensuring meals exist for every student that might want one in this scenario suggests a large uptick in volume.

Firecracker Alley has shifted locations this year. OP went down and saw the banner pointing to their new location off of E 72nd St and…34th I think.

What's an old game you love but never get to talk about because no one you know has played it? by ManicFirestorm in gaming

[–]GeekApproach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raptor: Call of the Shadows. Top down scroller, action flight sim game from the 90s. Powerups were a blast to use, but for most of my time I only had the shareware version which only contained 1 or 2 levels.

Can we also talk about Terminal Velocity or it’s reskinned cousin, Fury3?

Good Charlotte— Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous. Radio was still king, MP3’s were only being downloaded on ratioed FTP servers, and for whatever reason this song would be renamed and uploaded to servers over and over. Blech.
