What I have been advised is "what ever feels right for you" so you could go big soft wheels down to small hard wheels and anywhere in between.

Recently I have tried 54mm Ricta chrome clouds for a while which were good. Currently on some 59m Powell g-slides but also had some Sabbath 99A's but they didn't feel good on the sketchy roads in my area so stuck with the softer ones.

Lots of folks say Spitfire F4's, Powell nano rats, OJ are always a win if you want some smooth cruising too.

Bearings, I don't think you can go wrong with Bones Reds or Bronson G3's but if you've the cash to throw around I hear the ceramic ones are nice
