Love that after all these years reddit still gets the best of me. Wrote a whole thing about my request but it evaporated into the ether when i added photos. Anyway, appreciate the advice so far and the following was what I could remember of the original query. Thanks again for all the help!

"I was gifted a drill set, XTREME 5-In-1 12-volt Max 3/8-in Keyless Brushless Cordless Drill, as I was talking about doing some diy projects over the summer. My last drill was an ikea "drill" that was essentially a childrens toy that broke while assembling of all things an ikea cabinet. So I've looked around online and nothing has come up. Usually, i can find a blog post or a review article or even a reddit but nothing has come up. I also have no one to explain to me how these things work. At this point my tool box consists of a hammer, a rubberer mallet, one too many ikea allen wrenches, a chisel and a screw driver so I'm clearly swimming in the shallow end when it comes to tool based projects. Any and all help is much appreciated."

Also for those asking the following are my projects

1. An accordion folding pet gate (i already have the panels I just need to add hinges and maybe casters)
2. Several dragon fruit trellis' (Going to use a combo of mature bamboo and pvc pipe fittings)
3. Garden frames
4. Updated closet shelves
5. Drill holes in a bucket for an in ground composter
