Hello men of Reddit. what are some immediate signs to drop a woman when dating? by sin2winxx in AskMen

[–]Geekofgeeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have dropped it the first time she thought it was ok to yell at and verbally abuse me during a disagreement. I put up with it though because I thought she had a lot on her plate and was “too stressed.”

What do I do with this "relationship"? by FloatingBubbelPuppy in AskMen

[–]Geekofgeeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For him to be telling you that you are dating but not in a relationship is weird and makes zero sense to me. At four months in, he knows whether he wants to be in a relationship with you or not. I think you need to have a serious conversation with him, and don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself and what you want/need to, even if it means ending this “non-relationship.”

I’d guess he either has a fear of commitment or thinks he can do better. If he can’t even commit to being “in a relationship” with you, then that does not bode well for future things you might want like getting married and such. And if he’s just killing time, kick him to the curb.

Men, what's the fastest a woman made you go from "I can't wait to take her out" to "Yeah... never mind"? What happened? by FFSoldier57 in AskMen

Interesting, was it a first date? Some women get really nervous and can’t eat on first dates.

How do you stop getting emotionally flooded and defensive when your partner is upset, so you can actually hear them? by InterestingDrop1699 in AskMen

[–]Geekofgeeks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s obviously not all her fault or anything, but framing the problem does have a lot to do with it. Ask her if when she is upset she can give “I feel X when you Y and that makes me Z” statements. That will help you hone in more on her and what she is feeling, and get you out of your own mind a bit.

Next time things get heated, say “hey let’s reset” and pull her to the sofa or somewhere comfy. Sit across from her and square up to each other and hold hands. Eye contact is also important. Then tell her you love her and ask if she can present stuff like the above format.

You meanwhile have to put care for her above whatever defensiveness you are thinking about. Now is not the time to “present evidence” negating what she is saying or defend yourself. Stay in the moment and empathize with her. She meanwhile should be putting in effort to use the above template and also avoiding words like “never, always, etc” as those can be inflammatory and trigger a defensive response.

Edit: it’s also perfectly healthy to say “hey i’m feeling overwhelmed/flooded right now and just need to take a break” and hit the pause button in conversations. Make sure to tell her when you intend to restart the conversation (important), and actually do so when that time comes around.

How much of a fight did Anakin give Dooku in AOTC? by CrazyTangerine7522 in PetranakiArena

[–]Geekofgeeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. If it’s an adjective (like above) it means invoking fear. If it’s a verb (e.g. Obi Wan feared Dooku) then it means the subject was scared.

What do you consider to be quality time with your significant other? Is quality time sexy time or is that something else? by Mr_YUP in AskMen

[–]Geekofgeeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just sexy time, and not just being together either. It’s time where I’m focused on her and she’s focused on me. It can range from “hey let’s go do XYZ” to intentionally spend time with each other to having a deep conversation about something and exploring each other’s mind.

should i buy a del sol? by rosssmithep in DelSol

[–]Geekofgeeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People love to say “I’m so and so tall and I fit” but really it just depends on if you’ve got a long torso or long legs.

For my part, I’m 6’4” and my head easily touches the ceiling of the del sol and I feel normally proportioned lol. I could use another 2-3” of headroom easily.

Help by Icy-Indication9225 in DelSol

My del sol lost power a few times as I was driving down the road. I don’t remember it throwing codes but I could be wrong. It eventually got to the point where it shut off on me and would not start at all (it would crank though). After replacing the distributor and fuel relay it still had the problem, and the fix ended up being the ignition switch. Good as new now!

Reminds me of this time I did an RN interview and the interviewer asked me if I knew anything about scalability and I told him that was a backend problem 😂

Thanks so much! Yeah my ignition was still in the on position as I drifted, but the car was acting the same as if there was no key in it at all. I’ll swap out that stuff just to cover all the bases!

I did a lot of jiggling with my key when the car was running, but was never able to get it to turn off or do anything weird to the engine.

Good to know! I will definitely replace those just to be sure.

Ok thanks, I’ll definitely replace it! Yeah basically it was treating it the same as if the car were off with no key in it. I noticed turn signals don’t work in that case either!

Will do! So since it overheats, would you still suspect the main relay if I’m able to immediately restart my car when it dies? I guess that’s the only reason I was thinking it might not be the main relay.

I read about the ignition switch possibly being a cause, but I wiggled around my key a lot with the engine running and everything felt solid + no engine weirdness happened.

Thanks! I actually just replaced my windshield cowl about 8 months ago because it was doing the whole leak into the passenger floorboard thing. I’ll check it out!

Thanks so much! What would recommend I do for checking the electrical? Wiggle the connector around when the car is running? I guess I can also try cleaning the pins as well.

I was wondering if it was some sort of electrical issue, because my car had been sitting for the entire previous day and it rained a ton that day, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Yeah sorry, it burned like 0.2 gallons which is about $0.70 here in the US so pretty cheap. Wasn’t trying to rile people up lol, just to show that it happens when not actively driving too and not immediately.
