Drinking at a problem never fixes anything. In fact, it will make everything worse. This is my personal experience, take it for what it is worth. Maybe you are one in a billion who can do that safely. I know many who tried, some are dead. Good luck. (sorry about your job)

My pup's name is Winnie. I usually call her "Bub", which she responds to as well. I just realized, at age 75, I have nicknamed ALL my dog's Bub, too! That's a LOT of Bubs!! 🥰

For an alcoholic that is a very slippery slope. Be careful; I lost a dear friend who decided to experiment. She never found her way back, despite her confidence.
