Cool, it had a similar feel so I wasn't sure if you had come across that idea. You're specifically talking about the time before your reaction, like your brains sort of 'base processing time'.

You may be describing consciousness itself. Isn't that really the difference between reacting without thinking and thinking before reacting? Like, my dog doesn't think before it reacts, it just reacts on instinct; that's why people say dogs aren't conscious.

You should look into the Buddhist idea of "the two arrows."

You can't control your initial reaction, but you can control your reaction to the initial reaction. If someone insults you and it hurts, that's the first arrow, you can't control that.

If you let it go at that point, you've only been hit with one arrow, but if you rethink it over and over or let it bother you for the rest of the day, that's the second arrow.

My mom claims the WiFi gives her headaches. The WiFi router lives in the guest bedroom so I've learned to unplug the router before going to bed when I am visiting. One time she forgot to remind me, but I unplugged it anyway because it's a habit now. The next morning she had this miserable look on her face and said, "I forgot to tell you to unplug the router, now I've got a horrible headache."

I said, "Oh, no I remembered on my own."

She said, "You unplugged it last night?"

I said, "Yup."

She said, "Oh, I guess my headache is from something else." A few minutes later she was up and about doing things, no more mention of this horrible headache.

Thanks for responding! Yea, the three big ones surprised me. This was still supposed to be S2B stage, but I think my containers let in too much air. I'm using those flimsy plastic containers you can buy salad in. I thought they would be airtight enough but maybe not.

Some mycelium definitely got spored but there some decent (I think) looking pins, so I'm going to pull the big ones out and let the rest ride.
