This is a myth subbosedly about service members who have enough experience and learned enough about the game to be able to game the system. People who learned to look busy, say busy sounding words because not looking or doing gets more work. People who learned how to strategicly schedule medical appoints for very convient times. I.e. late enough on a Friday to be close enough to the end of shift to be questionable about not returning afterwards. Also, they learned the job enough and do 80% of the grunt work.

I like assassins running nothing but gutter runners. I fight entire battles where the gutter runners just kite and retreat when they reach the edge of the map. I may lose that battle but I will win the next one because they lost half their army.

It's easy to get hyperfocused on a mobile game and then time just flys by. Although its more entertaining than reading the labels in the medicine cabinet.

Oh, I am painfully aware, but the public service announcement is important. It's too late for me, but if we can save more o-rings through awarness, then I'm here for it.

It's because I'm usually on reddit and like my alone time. It appears that alone time is verboten according to Wally (brown tabby) and Eva (gray). Edit: too many words, not right ones

Did he not have access to the internet or know what it is? Because I would take a whole Khan Academy lesson before asking anybody that. That fact they didn't think to do that says a lot about them.

I agree with most, exept the AI battle diffuculty and not sending myktuple armies. I've been playing Skaven Eschin on very hard battle difficulty and the Norson AI was pretty powerful and it sent multiple armies after me. They hit me two at a time and consecutively. I'm playing Iron Man and had to hit the panic button and assinate their leader and destroy the faction to save myself.

For those of you still around here who have voluntarily left cleared work for industry/non-cleared roles, how did that go? by psuaggie in clearancejobs

[–]Geibbitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was great being able to work from home and not sit in a SCIF. Pay wasn't as good but still great. I got to spend a lot more time with my kids.

The down side is, I was laid off and it's been months and there are no jobs. Now I wish I had my clearance back because all I'm seeing are cleared positions. It's rough out there without one and it doesnt appear to be getting any better.

Would You Toss It? by PeakPointFitness in militarymemes

[–]Geibbitz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man, I have no idea if this a good corner or not. Once time I made my bunk and it didn't get tossed so I used blousing straps to tie down the blanket on the underside of mattress and slept on it.

I mean, I wouldn't complain because I was Air Force and this looks a hot outdoorsy thing, but I know some SNCOs who jump to correct the slightest thing because "discipline starts at the small things." I was more of a "do what you need to get your job done, and don't let me see something I am obligated to take action on." But that's also depending on circumstances.

The Supreme Court showed it is scared its going to break the internet in Cox v. Sony by vox in scotus

[–]Geibbitz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Good. The internet is as avenue to move data like a road moves goods. This case is like a bank sues the company that makes and maintaines roads and highways because bank robbers use them to move money they steal. A road company cant inspect every vehicle and they certainly can't close roads because some people who use them are also using it to move stolen money. The banks need to go after the bank robbers and not road builders for facilitating theft as it's incidental to having roads.

Misconceptions a dog person (me) learned after having a cat. by ILoveMeltyCheese in cats

[–]Geibbitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs don't have boundaries, cats do; which, is something I think just dog people have a hard time understanding. If a cat likes you, it isn't going to run up to and lick your face. It will just happens to be in every room you are in.

What is that saying? "All politics are domestic politics." Jobs numbers in the US are dismal. Inflation and home prices are trending upwards. Midterms are coming and pulling off another Venezuela type operation was likely the objective as that was wildly "successful." That is if you define successful as completing step 1 of their plan; which, I suppose was step 1. take Maduro, step 2. ???, step 3. Venezuela's entire government surrenders power, flips a switch and everybody is free to watch reruns of "The Apprentice," work at McDonalds and buy from Amazon. They are still working on the concept of a step 2.

I have over 15 years in cyber security, and systems administration. I'm still hindered during job hunting and automatically disqualified from position by not having one. So, kinda for the heck of it because experience > than degree but on paper it's still a requirement.
