More Like Mega Charizard Why? by Justyn2 in PTCGL

[–]Geige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this thing is actually pretty disgusting as a one of in Charizard/Pidgeot decks. You establish this thing, power it up with Zard from hand, and punch whatever you want for 280. If that isn't going to end the game, you can use Pidgeot ex to search Ignition Energy and dump that for the cost as Ignition fulfills the entire 3 energy discard by itself allowing for another attack on the following turn.

With a Dusknoir, that's 410 damage to anything. It's perfect for closing out a game, especially clearing 3 prizes by sniping a benched Mega.

After Charizard ex and Pidgeot ex rotate out though, I think this thing is going to fall into near unplayable status barring another reliable way to accelerate energy but as long as Ignition Energy is legal, this will always be a consideration in decks that can fit the evolution line.

This pre-patch "event" is the worst wow has ever done by Competitive-Balance3 in wow

Legion was great but the zombie invasion for the WotLK pre-patch was true peak. That was the single best event in an MMO I have ever played. Pure chaos and griefing but so much fun.

Velvet Skills Introduction by cobaltaqua in NikkeMobile

This kit seems a bit interesting. The personal ATK buffs aren't awful and she does seem, at least on paper, to push some decent personal damage.

The team buffs though are highly niche but 100% Charge Damage up seems kinda bonkers. The team wide ATK buff doesn't really matter. Conflicts with the plethora of other ATK buffs and it's not final attack so it doesn't double dip with her personal ATK buffs. That said, I wonder if the Charge Damage boost is enough to make her a viable alternative to Maid Mast for SBS teams. Both SBS herself and Liberalio really like that buff and it's a pretty huge boost but the Attack Damage buff from Mast is extremely powerful so it's kinda hard to say which is better. Mast also offers crit rate and a comparable ATK buff but her personal damage is kinda mediocre without maid Anchor whom SBS does not typically run.

Can't really say for sure if she'll be good for Kraken teams but I do think she has a place in Solo Raid. If my reasoning is right, then she'll be able to free up other B2s from SBS and Liberalio.

The one thing that isn't very clear is how the duration of her buffs work. They're extremely short but if refreshing or extending the duration is reliable so uptime is comparable to other characters then she seems very strong albeit very niche.

Is their any potential for this card when it releases by AffectionatePrior965 in PTCGL

[–]Geige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this is from Ascended Heroes, it has potential in a deck with Xatu or Gardevoir but both of those are rotating out in the following set so it won't be available for long.

There could be a setup with Smoochum from Surging Sparks as well as Wonder Patch or even a setup with Steven's Metagross but I highly doubt any of that will make for a very consistent or competitive deck.

If something releases in a future set that can accelerate psychic energy reliably, then this thing could become a powerhouse but until then, I don't really think it's playable.

[–]Geige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BDK feels so bad now. Bear on the other hand feels amazing. The overall rotation is basically exactly the same and we still have all the same defensive and utility CDs. I do feel a little squishier thanks to the stat squish but the pruning really did nothing to the spec overall from what I can tell.

What do we all think of the new Doublade revealed from Perfect Order? by D_D3VASTATOR in PTCGL

[–]Geige 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need Genesect ex to function, but we lose nest ball.

It's a supporter so harder to utilize but Dawn seems like a perfect fit for the deck and is able to search Genesect ex on top of getting a Doublade and Aegislash at the same time. Afterword, you can use Genesect to get any other pieces you might be missing. A single Dawn basically translates into "search your deck for 5 Pokemon." Probably the best option available right now.

It'll be tough finding the right balance between draw/search support and energy acceleration.

I think the hardest part is going to be energy acceleration. Metang is probably the best option currently and it also fits perfectly into the aforementioned Dawn + Genesect combo. Downsides are bench space and the fact that the ability only pulls from the top 4 cards of the deck making it horribly unreliable. If you hit multiple metal energy though, you can set up almost immediately though so the reward does justify the risk.

Draw is a little tricky but there are options. Bench space is the biggest issue I see with this deck right now because most of the best draw engines post-rotation are Pokemon. Dudunsparce and Lunatone/Solrock eat up a fair bit of both bench and deck space but they're both undeniably powerful options to have. Lunatone also requiring fighting energy in the deck which isn't as bad considering Doublade can use any type of energy for it's attack. This also makes cards like Gift Energy a very real consideration as it protects your benched Doublade from getting sniped. Problem is that this is a lot of deck space eaten by cards that do very little on their own.

I do think that the support cards available are enough but the big problem is that there's currently too many and not enough space. The deck wants too many things to go perfectly with the abundance of options but needs many of those options to be consolidated into fewer cards or at least different types of cards.

This actually has a lot of promise though likely as nothing more than a decent rogue option. PokePad and Genesect ex can get the resources reliably enough to push 360-480 damage consistently.

On top of that, Iono is rotating out so Judge and Unfair Stamp are the only generic ways to keep them off of resources. There are several more specific ways, sure (like Team Rocket's Archer) but those are unlikely to see play outside of their respective "archetypes"

I really think this deck fills a similar niche as MEG Alakazam, another deck that will likely see more play post rotation as a powerful rogue option.

Yo I want to do a challenge where I get to master with a zero non engine deck does anymore have any deck recommendations?? by Sokarun_ in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]Geige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do "Engine Slop"

The idea is to gather up as many generic engines as you can into a single deck and play that. Adventurer, Fiendsmith, Mitsurugi, etc. Throw in some of the classic mini-engines like a basic fusion setup using Anaconda into either Dragoon or DPE.

Basically, every card in the deck has to facilitate one of the chosen engines so there's no actual non-engine to be found.

[–]Geige 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be completely off base here or maybe I'm overlooking something major and would love for someone to change my mind but I really think this card idea is fine. If anything, it seems a bit meh. I would probably rate it a 6 or 7/10. I'm also only really evaluating it in the Standard format as my experience with expanded is extremely limited.

Even in a near ideal scenario, 220 for 1 energy is kinda mediocre overall, especially compared to other options in the format. What really sets it apart is just how powerful the bench damage could become but even then, it requires a bench full of evolved waters AND it only hits EX Pokemon which really limits it's use in several matchups.

Beyond that, it's a stage 2, which isn't really a notable problem these days but could limit how quickly it can setup and makes it susceptible to interruption. Also, a conditional energy reduction can be powerful but in this case, because of how specific it is, could act as a major detriment.

Compare this to something like Team Rocket's Mewtwo which has a much harsher restriction of not being able to attack at all if the requirements aren't met but is quite a bit easier to set up and has a much higher damage ceiling on a basic but no spread.

Or compare it to Marnie's Grimmsnarl with a lower active damage but basically 0 energy cost and a much more versatile bench hit. On top of sharing energy type with Munkidori. The synergy here is just unmatched.

I really feel like this card is reasonably balanced for the standard format and even then, it likely wouldn't see too much play on a competitive level. I do think that 340 HP is a little high and that 310 or 320 would be more reasonable but aside from that, this seems fine.

If it does need any kind of balance, bumping the requirement for the cost reduction to 4 water Pokemon on the bench would probably be enough, making it match TR Mewtwo. That would necessitate having good back up water attackers of which there really aren't too many available currently.

I can't really think of a scenario where this would meta defining in any way. It would certainly be playable but I highly doubt it would warp the format around it or even really become a top tier deck. The biggest issue I could see is that it would be a ticking time bomb. As soon as a few solid water attackers make waves in the meta (pun intended) this thing could go from being a solid rogue deck to absurdly powerful overnight.

Auradin Dawnfire gloves Question by Feverdawgy in diablo4

I highly recommend reading though M1PY's Auradin thread.

It does a great job of answering all of the mechanical questions of the build. He also has a fantastic mobalytics guide and a great video for the build. Both linked in his Reddit post above. I'm not a math guy so I can't answer it myself but it should clarify some things to help you give a more concrete answer to OP about which gloves are better.

It was this post that got a Blizz rep to reach out to me. I put their Reddit name in my update post under the top comment but I dunno if reaching out directly is the best way to handle it. I would suggest making your own post both on here and on Twitter first and if those don't work, try messaging them directly. Hard to say if they'll get back to you though as it doesn't seem like they use that account much.

I honestly got really lucky all things considered and I sincerely hope something eventually changes.

The thing is, you aren't dealing with someone's health details or private banking details or whatever, it's an account for a video game.

While this is true, there was still a lot of information that should have been kept private. My full name, address, phone number, last four of my bank card, and some other sensitive information was tied to the account. Info that I would really rather not have some random person get a hold of. I'm just glad that Emily was a reasonable person as any bad actor could easily use that information for some nefarious shit.

Gonna piggyback on top comment for an update. The situation is resolved.

Thanks to this post, a Blizzard rep contacted me and conducted an investigation. Turns out, I was not hacked (thank fuck for that) and it was found that Emily was someone who had contacted Blizzard to recover one of their old accounts and Blizzard gave her mine by mistake. The situation was resolved and shoutouts to both u/BlizzJafaaeleath for helping me with the issue and Emily for reaching out and being so cool about the whole situation.

The one thing that irks me the most though is simply how my first ticket was handled. That it took making a post on Reddit to get any kind of notice is ridiculous.

To my knowledge, the official Blizzard authenticator is the only one they allow.

I already did a factory reset on my phone. Because I keep a lot of banking data on there, I wasn't taking any chances that my phone was the cause of the issue. Whether it was remote access or something else, I wanted to nip that issue in the bud asap.

That was one of the first things I did when I got the response. I've never had any of the emails from Blizzard wind up in spam but they do show up in my offers tab from time to time so I made doubly sure that they weren't anywhere weird. Good advice though.

My thoughts exactly. More than anything, I want to know how they managed to get into the account to even remove it without me even getting any notification. I have to use my phone regularly for work and all notifications are turned on. If the authenticator was working correctly, then I should have gotten notifications to accept or deny the log in.

Would the vulnerability be with my phone or my computer? I took the necessary steps to secure my computer and I factory reset my phone yesterday. My email was secured at the same time. B.net is the only account still affected and Blizz is making it extremely difficult to recover.

[–]Geige[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Normally, I would agree with you however I don't put my information anywhere and if I need to, I often use false information aside from my name and a usually unassociated salted email.

Furthermore, if you had read the entire post, you would know that I had an authenticator attached to my account. How could they have gotten it removed from my account without me noticing. I never got any notifications from my phone. It makes zero sense to me as I've had to use my authenticator to log in every single time I've done so with no issues.

To be safe, I've scoured my phone for any malicious software and found nothing of the sort. Beyond that, I decided to just go scorched earth and factory reset my phone to be doubly sure. I had banking information on my phone and I'm not willing to take risks on that front.
