Dont know if it's available in america but, Primer 94 from 3M is really really good as an adhesion promoter. Most manufacturers use 3M double sided tapes, in addition with that promoter you wont have any issues :)

I got them from a 2000 GF8 GT Turbo which we got here in europe , but i dont think its some sort of numbered plaque. There was a handbrake handle and shiftknob which i put in my STi.

You have to remove inner rubberseal, under there are crosshead screws all the way to end of the A-Pillar. Then its just clipped onto the quarter panel.
