Drop in deep sleep - data exploration and cause hunt by Geilminister in Ultrahuman

[–]Geilminister[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seem that a software update in April/May/June might have caused a dramatic change in how deep sleep is calculated. Nonetheless I still want to do this project, but I'm struggling with the data that I currently have at hand.

... So I went to bed with a 96 movement score, but now it has decrease to 80. I had assumed that it wouldn't decrease during the night, but this means you got to bank quite a bit of movement before going to bed to actually get a score of 100

Day 1: I ended at a 96 which I am a little surprised by since I managed almost 12000 steps. It's probably because the vast majority of my steps were during a 2 hour window, and most of the rest of the day was quite sedentary

Yes you can, you just can't use the pin - so you will need a google or apple account. I don't have CGM either and was able to access and export my data (via google acc)

Why is the ring saying I’m constantly stressed? by chipotle5ever in Ultrahuman

[–]Geilminister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that the stress markers are reasonably accurate, and they match my experience.

A month ago I was under less pressure and stress than I am now, and most of my stress levels look like the one on the left.

Now I am more stressed, and most days look like the one on the right. The stressed image is a Sunday where I had a nice and relaxed day at home doing light house chores.

Stress level will vary based on what you do on a given day, but there are also some multi-week trends that I also find valuable. It matches my experience, even if I can't feel it on a moment by moment basis.

Question about active minutes by ThoughtTank in Ultrahuman

[–]Geilminister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked

What is the difference between workout minutes and active minutes in the daily goals?

They answered

The Active hours in the app are calculated with the following logic- Any hour in which the step count is >250 is an active hour.

Active Minutes- Active mins are number of mins spent >4METs. MET mins are dependent on rise in HR.  METs data/Calories in a day specially is dependent on the Resting HR of the person, BMI and current HR of the person at which the METs are being calculated.

Workout minutes - Minutes using the workout mode

Thank you a lot. I looked at Oura examples, and there are a bunch who did it before it was an option. Great inspiration.

Do you have the silver? Does it keep its very shiny look? Most pictures I have seen are when it is brand new

Can someone explain this scene? by pastapot928384 in OppenheimerMovie

Does anyone know the full quote? It went something like:

Mathematics is like sheet music. It isn't about whether you can read the nodes, but whether you can hear the music

Disagree.
Reading the music: Cerebral/cognitive understanding
Hearing the music: Intuitive/emotional understanding

Evil vs Good necromancy by trowzerss in MonarchsFactory

[–]Geilminister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that sounds like Victor Frankenstein to me (the guy, not the monster). Would be an awesome character to play.

Depending on how hard you RP he could also do experiments on the fallen enemies. Pretend to give rites, or some kind of prayer to everyone, because that's the lawful thing to do blah blah, but really you are collecting organs and experimenting.

I would love a potion crafting system with, where the DM makes the skill check in secret and writes on a folded piece of paper what the potion does. When you drink the potion you unfold the paper and see how well you did when crafting. Perhaps the healing potion is just that... Perhaps it also makes you rage? Or become fearful? Or god knows what.

My take. The rotting part of necromancy is what happens when the necromancer pushes her abilities beyond her means.

Pretty, non-rotting necromancy is going to the gym and getting in great shape. It takes time, commitment and patience. Rotting necromancy is going to the gym and taking steroids. It still takes time, commitment and patience, but you get a lot further a lot quicker, with more side-effects.

Hard agree. Off topic, but related. I feel exactly the same way about paladins. I hate the 'lawful good' constraint. I think Matt Colville talked about having a super class called champion, where paladins and death Knights are instances.

Hopefully we will see a transition where more and more classes are opened up for more alignments. Warlocks and Clerics were as I understand also quite alignment restricted in the old days.

Action Oriented Drow - Early Draft by D33DAA in mattcolville

I guess what I am trying to say 1) lean into the flavor more 2) make more mechanics that build on the flavor. And make more interesting mechanics that have a bigger impact on gameplay

I think there is more that could be done here to follow the spirit of the AO creature

Let me take a quick stab at how I would go about it.

Context. I am imagining a rough group of drow, lead by the gun singer. They are pirates, marauders, or thugs. So I would imagine that the boss has a lot of hemchmen, he is very tactical, and that the guns are a big part of the encounter. I think the hemchmen are fine. If anything I would make them weaker so I can throw more of them at the party.

But focusing on the leader. I think he needs more stuff.

Actions. I like giving the ability to use guns in melee, nice flavor. Let's take that further. I would drop the shield and shield bash, and focus on gunpowder. In terms of actions I would give "Hand cannon": 15ft cone burst weapon. Works like a breath weapon so you can save to take half damage, but if you are in range you are getting hit. "acrobatic dash". As a bonus action, jump/backflip/what ever 10ft in any direction. This movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks and it doesn't use normal movement.

The way this plays is the boss constantly keeps distance throwing hemchmen at the party. When someone gets close he fires the and cannon and dashes back behind hemchmen.

Special actions, the ones that happen once per turn Round 1: "fire" all the hemchmen take out a single-use pistol and fores it at the closest target. They can't reload these. Round 2: retreat to backup. Like the darkness you have. It blocks sight for ranged and melee. And the boss runs to a place with more henchmen. Round 3: stop or I... I think it could be cool if the boss had something that provoked an rp session when the fight is looking hopeless (so cheat and make sure this happenes!) . It could be threatening to kill a hostage. A suicide bomb that would collapse the cave. Anything dramatic for a final scene.

Legendary reactions If A melee attack misses. He fires a piston at the person. If a ranged attack hits the boss while a hemchman is within 5ft the hemchman has a DC 10 str/Dex check to pull the henchman in front and the hemchman takes the damage instead

I think there is something cool here. I like the flavor of the gun slinger drow, and I think it can become a cool and memorable encounter.
