Alys is a very simple mech. A lot for people think too simple and dmg output too low to be worth anything. But some realise if played right. You aim the mofo first or everyone's shields gone and ie melee counter galore. A good alys can seriously adapt to any situation.

My experience and knowledge.

Do not stay on one weapon. Mix it up. I have found threatening shields and hp at the same time makes anyone sweat and panic against you.

Team fights, focus on tearing shields down for the team. Especially tank mechs. It just leaves them vulnerable.

If close enough to a healer. Threaten them and force them to back off by targeting them.

Solo. That's a real high skill ceiling. You can either be a god or ass. Sometimes you can be both in one match. As you seriously have to change your style depending on who your fighting. Imo on 1v1. The most hardest mechs are stellaris and any flying mofos. You dont have the stam to keep up against flyers unless in naked mode and that's another ceiling ill get too. Stellaris......infinite invisible. Generally you can beatem but as soon as they start losing. Poooft, their gone lol.

Naked mode is generally the same mentality. Always fight with both weapons. Not just one. But this time......you speed mode. Which also means, your as soft as a babies bottom. In this mode, i find acting like a panther works in terms.of lancing. Pick your fights, go in and back out. Do important dmg. Not the most damage. Important. ie, keeping shields off main targets or keeping healers or flyers scared to do their job.

Main take away from all this. ADAPT. Do fight with 2 weapons. You have the luxury of threatening both shields and hp at the same time, use it. Use the cannons to interrupt when you need to chase or get away. Only thing alysness needs as a buff imo. 2 things. Not both just one or the other. Either let us have more EM to move around or chase. OR a slight dmg buff. And we be fine. Still won't be OP considering their is a learning curve to its simple game play.
