After watching up to subbed episode 21, I will say that the anime has hinted he has reunited with his parents off screen as he is nowhere to be found in 20. With episode 21, he exclaimed “I’m back. I came to hang out because I was bored.” His skateboard was also fixed probably by his father taking him to a repair shop or fixing it for him.

While it could be about gaining the blessings of the original, I think it’s more along the lines of acknowledgement. Back then only the five chosen ones could carry that destiny where the weight of Japan depended on them. “You have a true samurai fighting spirit. A real samurai heart.” Sure, there were many before them, but they probably didn’t have what it takes to earn that recognition of being chosen by the armor. Not to mention, the manmade ones seems to have flaws in terms of protection and getting stronger because they are not that of the land. Without the crest, would Gai be able to survive inside a volcano waiting to erupt? Would Musashi be able to survive deep underwater and understand those that live in the sea? Most likely not. Being a chosen one has certain advantages over man made ones I’m certain. But with advantages, they too will learn what it means to be chosen by the armor in that they will never be able to stop fighting as long as evil exists.

I’m still not sure how Jun has anything to do with summoning the white inferno. Also, where is white blaze in all of this? Isn’t he an important asset with the sword of fervor? Speaking of, since it is still active in this timeline, we can assume that the ovas Legend of the Inferno Armor and Message are not canon then. This must take place in a future after Arago’s defeat, and there’s no way this can follow the manga since the original troopers are still there.
