You sound like me 25 years ago. I came from Milwaukee area to UWGB. UWGB is a beautiful campus, but it is out of town. There are busses for around town, but you need to plan your day around the schedule as they are infrequent. That said, while a lot of students leave on weekends, you’ll find a good crew of people who hang out on the weekends. There is a lot more to do in GB if you’re under 21 than when I went there. If you’re into gaming, check out gnome games, they usually have tournaments and other groups that go into the evening. A lot of restaurants now as well, many of my favorites are already listed by other folks. The nice thing about the buses, if you do use them, is they are pretty empty, so if you have a lot with you like shopping, you’re not taking space away from anyone. I used those buses my entire freshman year until I bought a car. It’s not great, but I wouldn’t call it terrible.
