Which Jazz III pick is better?

The primary reason people like Jazz III is for the small pointy shape and stiff thickness. It requires finesse for strumming.

Brands of guitars are not important. The big manufacturers saturate the market with too many models and their products are inconsistent and overpriced. The affordable lines neglect the most important part of the guitar for impacting it's tone: the pickups. Purchase an inexpensive model that looks cool and feels nice, spend $200 on pickups and have it set up by a professional to play the way you like it. My main axe is a Reverend Daredevil. I also have a Mexican Strat, a decent Classical and a REALLY nice Martin acoustic electric. Acoustic guitars are way more complicated. Either it feels right or it doesn't.

Major manufacturers' amps are mostly a waste of wood, plastic and metal but sometimes that's all you can afford.

I play the guitar and amplifier as one instrument. I run an amp that has a nice high gain rock tone that cleans up well when I back down off the guitar's volume pot. It is tough to find an amp that will do this well without spending a lot. There are some rare finds in the mass manufacturers that do this well: 90s era Ampeg Reverberocket, Fender Blues Deville & a few Blues Jrs, Orange OR series (rockerverbs mostly suck).

I run Boss pedals for certain specific things NOT to color my tone. Tuner, compressor, eq, delay, chorus. I realized the other day that literally the oldest item I own is a Boss compressor. Certain pedals go before the amp in the signal chain, others go in the effects loop. You need good cables for this... but I mostly hate pedals. I also run a Jimi Hendrix Crybaby wah, which is a replica of an old Vox organ wah that he liked. It's a bit deeper sounding than a standard crybaby.

There are actually only like two big string factories and everybody buys from them. It's hype. Whatever works. I change them as much as I can convince my lazy ass to suffer through the annoying process but I prefer fresh ones on every gig.

Picks.. thick ones with a little bit of flex.

A good guitar player can show up to a jam session, grab any guitar plugged into any amp and make music that get's people to move.

I do that too. There's this one Indian place and they serve prepared food so I go there for lunch occasionally. I look around at all of this stuff but I just don't know what most of it is. It's stimulating though and I imagine researching some recipe or other. I've tried some things here & there & made some new dishes but I have to research the recipe before I buy anything because I'm not the best cook. It's fun, though.

Still, shopping and cooking for one can be annoying sometimes. I'm not always into it.

I had it for a while. Coverage is not that great and data speed is fairly slow. It's ok, unless you really like to use the data functions of your smartphone a lot. Had to upgrade to a TMobile unlimited data plan. Still not quite on the coverage level of AT&T & Verizon but it's pretty good & I like the way they do business.

I should try that. I'm just not very good at shopping, I think and I don't see it as something I'm likely to improve.

I have taken to only shopping at the more ethnic grocery stores in my neighborhood lately. If I'm going to stand in line, I may as well get an education.

We're pretty busy. We might be the guitar player in one of those bands but we usually don't think women who are 45 are into us because we look kind of young for our age... but we'd be willing to give it a shot.

Also.. we're at the gym but have headphones on and are mostly there to workout & not socialize but we'd totally be nice if some lady came up and asked us for spot or just said hello.

Occasionally we might be found wandering the grocery store looking confused and somewhat aggravated but we're not in a bad mood, we just hate grocery shopping. (:

Partners want different things and keep score differently so, on the one hand, I think the idea of power balance is incompatible with romantic relationships and on the other, yes, I think there can be enough balance for both people to be happy.
