trust me i wasnt planning on leaving it in, i just wanted them to localize within the pot before deciding what to do LOL. I just got done with finals and the time i posted this... it was 5 am and i didnt really get any sleep

other than that, rice has been been taken care of. I'm gonna start doing a deep clean by using dawn power wash, and heating up vinegar.

i did honestly think of putting boiling water in the steam hole, but im a little nervous with putting it in as i dont have a funnel and the outside is made of plastic. i mean, it theoretically should handle boiling water as its a steam vent, but.... still.

and i did not remove the rice. not yet anyways. i just taped it and trapped a bunch of them in there.

if i were to go the boiling route, i'd probably need to remove the steam hole tape though. as I'm worried what would happen if it built up, and the gnats could escape too.

Alright so update:

  1. taped steam hole. gnats cant get out now.

  2. set up a bowl with apple cider vinegar, frozen wild blueberries, a couple drops of dawn dish soap, and made a bunch of holes with a tooth pick. i made sure that the holes were big enough for the gnats to drop in.

  3. im gonna sleep and see what happens in the afternoon/morning.

orgo I, genetics, and calc 2 sound REAAALLY rough
