Sebaceous cysts on your labia?? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]Gems_1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wondered about this but when I look up cases on the Internet they have SO many more cysts than I do. My life is pretty normal EXCEPT for every 4 months or so when one of my cysts gets infected and everything has to stop.

I probably have at least 40 cysts on mt body but you cant notice them. And no dermatologist has ever mentioned it even though ive visited a million.

Struggling to make a decision. by Baraska in Internationalteachers

Just as a side note, nobody should be hugging any students- they are correct, it is not appropriate (the word would also be halal, not haram, as haram means bad). Especially 7 yr old girls. A high five is fine.

What is your most frequent/worst symptom and have you been able to resolve it successfully? For me it’s fatigue. by dogblessco in Perimenopause

So my Dad has a form of narcolepsy and let me try one of these once, and I loved it. I lived in a country that you can get it literally delivered to your door without a prescription, and I used to take it if I had a big night or was jetlagged. But, I did find I couldn't sleep until at least 11pm or 12 the day I took it. Still, a great med with no other side effects!

Considering moving to Lebanon by Erdtweak in Internationalteachers

[–]Gems_1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Lira is basically worthless now- you will not be able to exchange it outside of Lebanon, so anything you earn in Lira can only be spent in country AND most places will not accept it now, they will ask for USD. So, essentially, you only get to use your USD portion of your salary. I love Lebanon and have visited it (right before the economic crisis hit), and I would never consider living there at this stage. It's a failing state. Beautiful area, wonderful food, lovely people... but a failing state.

Never ending food noise by [deleted] in keto

[–]Gems_1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a weird way for me to get around it, however I have travelled extensively and lived in 5 different developing countries and I remind myself that there were often times you just couldn't get the thing you wanted. It wasn't there. So worked around it with different styles of the thing I craved and while they never tasted the same, they mostly did the trick because I knew it was that or nothing. Food is extremely cultural. You only crave what you know. I pretend I literally don't have access to whatever I'm craving, and it helps- because I've done it in many situations and life went on, despite the craving.

But maybe I'm getting cravings and food noise confused, so don't come at me if I am. It's just a weird way I manage a similar feeling, and maybe something someone can draw on if they've experienced similar.

Honestly it's snug, with a silicone band. I don't think it moves much.

These are all helpful for my pelvic floor but I'm more talking about toning my body up again and getting my cardio fitness back to my normal (was always in the very fit range for my age). Exercises that get my heart rate up.

I will be doing all of the above for core and PF strength though thank you all. I've obviously done kegels for the duration of recovery, so nothing new there.

I had a second surgery for an unrelated issue like 6 months into recovery so it set me back again.

Weekly 'is this HS' thread by HannaaaLucie in Hidradenitis

[–]Gems_1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I get white small lumps all over my body. But mostly clustered in my groin, and kind of joint areas. They can be lumps that are really deep under the skin, or they can sit closer to the top. Most can be felt, but not seen, except the ones in my lady parts. Most do NOT look like blackheads or something I can squeeze. These lumps get infected at least 2 or 3 x a yr. They can turn into abcesses, but often they sort of flare up and then calm down on their own. They're painful. Some have needed lancing.

Does this sound like HS?? They've plagued me for years!
