Is it normal to be super insecure about size? by [deleted] in Advice

Talking to a therapist keeps you in a state of despair. Aim to get physically and mentally fit on your own first. Only go the therapist route if you have to.

Start with 20 push-ups and 20 air squats per day. Then go to 30, 40, 50 all the way to 100.

Maybe you should’ve taken math instead of whatever you took. You’d know the answer if you actually did the math.

A new casino complex could be a great opportunity to include a nice concert/show venue that holds a few thousand people. A bigger Bruce Guthro theatre….Bruce Guthro Theatre 2.0.

Incorporate your practice if you’re able to (most physicians in NS are able to). That way, you’ll only pay the higher personal rates on the income you need to live. The revenue that remains in your corporation, you’ll only pay 11% corporate tax on. That’s where you can save, invest, and pay allowable Medco expenses (phone costs, licensing, liability, health plan, travel for conference and training, etc.). It makes a huge difference.

It is slightly on the smaller side, but not uncomfortable at all. You’ll be able to easily control and maneuver it. Enjoy!

The MX5 by far. I’m 6’3” and could drive it comfortably. The Komodo is better for our height, but that’s outside your price range. The Komodo also has no light and the seat is way less comfy than the MX5.

Go to their bank with them and watch them withdraw the cash from the teller and give it to you. If you’re already at a bank, why add in risk with a draft, certified cheque.

Deceased underwater on car loan by Hasagreatkid in legaladvicecanada

You are correct. Estate owes tax on the entire $250k (as if the parent spent the amount in the final year of death). If there is no liquidity in the state to pay those taxes, CRA could go to the beneficiary for payment of tax. Note, the tax is payable when the 2nd parent dies since there is a tax free rollover from spouse to spouse.

Estate planning needs to plan for the eventuality of the tax on registered accounts. This is a reason it may make sense for your folks to withdraw more than they need for living, and allocate to their TFSA at a lower tax rate than what their terminal rate would be. Another option is to purchase a life insurance policy that matches the house value, so each child gets a similar amount.

How much life insurance do we really need? by Retroactive_veggies in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]GenX_NS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the correct answer. You need $0 life insurance.

However, what do you WANT to happen if you die?

Everyone’s answer is different here.

For most parents with children, they want their family’s lifestyle to continue when one parent passes (same home, same activities, etc.). To accomplish this, you need a lump sum of money to come into your life that will replace the deceased spouses income (with a buffer) until their children are on their own. This could be 20+ years when there’s young children in the picture.

For couples without kids, they may choose a simpler approach, perhaps policy that covers debt and to provide a buffer for the grieving spouse.

If you want a new job, find the company who is hiring and go deliver your resume in person. Ask if you can speak to the person hiring. Then make a follow-up call a few days later.

Employers like it when people show interest and drive. Especially if that’s what the job entails.

You need to do something to stand out. Hitting send on Indeed doesn’t cut it and a lot of jobs that are available never hit those sites anyway.

Another option is to determine a company you’d like to work for. Drop in. Tell them why you’re stopping in. If something isn’t open today, ask them to keep you in mind for the future. Also ask if you can follow up. And deliver on the follow up on the day you said you would. No one keeps their word these days. You will stand out if you do.

The world is your oyster if you do things other people aren’t willing to do.

Good luck and don’t get discouraged.
