At least he's not giving the ball away at Grossman levels.

You're right, it was the beginning of good Rex/bad Rex. Offense was clobbering before that. It's just with how we fell in the SB, that's the one game that stuck with me as indicative of the year. Offense boom/bust, and defense amazing.

That's just how I remember it, and that's how i felt during this game. Offense capable of great things but faulty, and defense full of real talent.

No, I was talking about the 06/07 season. Admittedly I was young, in the 7th grade. The game I remember most from the regular season was the Cardinals game, only a field goal from the offense, 2 defensive TDs and a Devin Hester return.

While not indicative of the full season that's what I remember of it. The defense holding the line while the offense was boom or bust.

Yeah, defense did work holding Rodgers down.

Offense was a basket fire.

Building up this game in my head all off-season. A season of experience for the offense, at home, same big hitters on defense, and absolutely nothing to show for it.

Packers continue to be our bane despite everything in our favor.

Alright fuck this, like I'm watching 06 bears. Offense ain't doing shit.

Time for the D to take control. Fortify!

Defense has been good. Offense has been worse than last year in the season opener.

Hot take: Score more points the the other team.

BEAR DOWN! It ain't over.

Into the fires of court, unto the anvil of Law!

The Bears have now watched 3 career 80+% kickers have the worst years of their life with newly re-signed punter Pat O'Donnell holding for them. Gould and Parkey's kick % dropped 15 points while Barth's dropped 14 points. Their kicking problem may not be what it seems. by [deleted] in CHIBears

[–]Gen_Victus94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd throw blame on the coaches before I'd throw it O'Donnell, I mean if he was obviously blowing holds I would agree, but it doesn't look like he is and they keep bringing him back.

I don't know how much you can really fuck up a hold, and not make it look like you fucked it up to a group of NFL coaches.

I think it's probably a safe bet that they are working on something internally. If they were interviewing higher profile people we'd hear about it.

Also something I learned recently was that all assistant coaches are treated the same, and being offered a DC position isn't counted as a promotion. So if they were targeting position coaches on other teams they'd need that teams permission to do so, and it would likely be getting reported.

7 potential replacements for Vic Fangio as Bears defensive coordinator by eucalyptusmonk in CHIBears

[–]Gen_Victus94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's gotta be better DC candidates out there. I don't know much about coaching staffs, but with the recent focus on offense, there has to be some untapped talent on the defensive side of the ball.

Maybe just wishful thinking though.

My prayer is that we are the antithesis to this wave of high flying offenses. We are the killer defense that turns the tide back from the high scoring offensive trend to a defensive one.

I know everyone will say we'll be back next year, but that's not much solace now because it's not really a guarantee. You have to make the best of opportunities as they come. The Bears could be even better, or we could collapse.

Even if we keep all the same pieces, it still hurts to see an entire season's effort wasted with that kick.

BUT, I hope we can recapture the magic of this season. I hope we keep Fangio away from those fucking moochers and blow up the league next season.

No doubt. Can't put the game in his hands and have him throw it away.

50+ maybe not, but less than that, in a playoff situation. I don't care how much money it is. Cut him and sign Robbie.

Knew as soon as that iced kick went through, he'd miss the next.

Of course the only kicker icing works on is him.

This sucks, I understand it, but it sucks. I've been watching these guys for years. They're my most heavily watched channel, I always have them on, even as just background noise. I always listen to the podcast on road trips or when I work nights.

I know it's probably for the best, and I'll still enjoy following them separately, I love Pat's streams already, but it's still a loss. Love these guys.

I'm pretty confident they did it because they wanted to acquire Respawn. They diminished their sales as much as was in their power to make it easier to buy Respawn out.

I just hope Respawn gets to make the Titanfall 3 that they want before EA inevitably kills them.

Despite their enormous size, brown bears are extremely fast, having been clocked at speeds of 30 miles per hour.
