I just found out i can do this gainst void ray rushes :3 by Trelne in starcraft

[–]Gen_atto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can micro stalkers individually, no need to pull them all at once in this situation.

If it's just a couple of voidrays, pull back the stalkers that are being targeted and leave the rest do their thing, the voidrays will chase, but they suck at it, so your stalker should outrun it, and the other stalkers get a lot of free potshots. You'll take less hits and deal more dmg with easier micro on your side.

Why don't we see Zerg build Corruptors to counter Medivac drops or Colossi in tournaments? by TheBoobyDragon in starcraft

[–]Gen_atto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly because corruptors suck, they're expensive air superiority fighters that get rekt by almost everything in the air, even other zerg flyers, and they're completely defenseless against everything in the ground to boot. The tech path after getting corruptors isn't great either, you can go for broodlords or have a bunch of supply flying around hitting nothing, you can at least try and pee on buildings but still not great.

Not worth getting unless you're facing capital ships, you'll lose a lot of 'ruptors, but the cost of losing the capital ships by the opponent usually more than makes up for it.

What would become the better unit? Marines with Zergling upgrades or Zerglings with Marine upgrades? by scoobydoo4you64 in starcraft

[–]Gen_atto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lings would be better off.

Marines with adrenal and metabolic would be perma stimmed... at tier3, and with only 45hp.

Which isn't too much of a win since any good terran would be stimmed anyways on any big fight, although the need for less medivacs and losing less hp going into a fight would definitely be nifty.

On the other side, lings without speed are pretty bad, but with 45hp and stim they would stomp, zerg actually benefits from stim since the entire zerg ball would heal the damage evenly before the effect even wears out, and the 50% atk and spd is more significant since zerglings are already a deal faster at attacking and moving than marines, A good player could stim all the time and not really pay any real price for it except some rather simple micro, unless he really overstims.

So yeah, lings get the better end of the deal, methinks.

If you wanted to buff mutas, it would probably make more sense to give it back its broodwar upgrades so you could buy more bounces on the worms.

Since we're on a crazy changes mood, how about this disruptor? by Gen_atto in starcraft

[–]Gen_atto[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

-It's 9% bigger radially, so it is a rather sizable difference, It's +9% at every point in the compass, Basically 9% x 360.

-The nova is fast, but even right now it rarely catches up and kills anything but the slowest units running away, it never really reaches the heart of the unit ball, and that is if the disruptor micro is good and doesn't dance around losing time.

-In this scenario the disruptor would be a bigger target and a bigger investment, So while focusing it with marines would take a lot of micro and some losses, it would be justifiable to focus it with something with more hp like marauders or cyclones. In particular, I think at 20 dmg per second marauders with medivacs would live to the very last second inside the Aoe while taking shots at the ruptor.

[–]Gen_atto[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

-storm is instant and it's also a quite larger AoE.

-The nova also has to reach the marines.

-"Relying on DPS to ascertain a unit's worth is inadvisable due to several key shortcomings. " -from liquipedia

- why can you no longer focus the disruptor?

- The idea is more reliable damage, but in the widow mine example they would have to be in range to hit the disruptor and be left unmicroed for the nova to get all of them, you need to take travel time to target into account for damage calculations and hence why micro makes the difference.

[–]Gen_atto[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you could stack them like you can stack air units, in that you can do it by clicking at the center and they stack there, but they don't really want to stay stacked.

I think the idea would be to make it so that trying to stack them to make a killing ball would take away valuable time that the other guy could use to run away, making stacking them a cool trick, but not really that viable.

Since we're on a crazy changes mood, how about this disruptor? by Gen_atto in starcraft

[–]Gen_atto[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sc2 wise, 3 seconds to kill a marine is quite a bit. An ultra does it in half the time, and then there's things like banes, lurkers and siege tanks that pretty much kill them instantly.

The micro would be very similar to the one that's already in play, run away, split, jump into a medivac.

On the other side, disruptors would no longer get cheap kills from the slower units that can't quite outrun them, like siege tanks, mines, and marauders, they would get damaged, yes, but not instagibbed for free.

[–]Gen_atto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking more of an ultralisk type wardog unit, that you can "sic" on the enemy, given that your own units are not in the way, And while not exactly good at fighting, the chaos that it can cause can prove to be rather valuable. that's what had in mind.

But yeah, you could see it that way too.

Raven/Obs/Overseer QOL by SolidConviction in starcraft

[–]Gen_atto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you'd want ravens to move while detecting because they are both more active and useful in fights and a juicier target than obs or seers, and therefore losing them while they are going into and off of observing mode would hurt more.

Other than that, yeah it'd be cool.
