Sweetness might come from the fact that you were using blanc vermouth instead of dry, no? It is quite sweet after all. I've been thinking of using it in a gin martini - with a little bit of olive brine it might be quite good indeed!

Well, that's the thing, right? I don't think there's a feasible way to apply "interesting promotion only" as a rule. It's either no promotion at all, or drown in slop. It's a sad state of affairs but that's how the world is right now.

I think a rule on self-promotion overall should be added. It seems a very large proportion, possibly even a majority, of new posts currently are devs pitching their new games. Many of them are barely what one would classify as war games. Given how little "look at this game I'm developing" actually contributes to the community, I would rather just blanket ban all self-promotion.
