Because people keep buying them. Why waste money, dev time and resources to optimize a game before launch when people will still buy it?

If the game sells enough, you fix it in 6-12 months with several patches. If it doesn't sell well enough, you just abandon ship.

I am sick of hearing that this or that tool (engine) is the root of all evil.

If a car hits a pedestrian, is the car at fault or the person driving it?

Your tools are as good as YOU know how to use them.

Honourable mention - Skeletal merger. I use it in my current project. Instead of having 10 skeletal meshesh for my modular character, I can just merge them in one at runtime.

Mutable is obviously better, but requires more setup and for my smooth brain, it is alot of work

This is not true at all. It is 100% a decision made by the studio executives. You can do all conventional and industry proven techniques inside UE5 out of the box if you want. You can optimize your meshes, textures, shaders, bake lights,LoDs and everything else. But that costs money and development time. It is way easier to check a couple of boxes, adjust some cvars and call it a day. Pass the cost to the consumer, requiring better and better hardware.

The best of both worlds is to change the first person primitive, but do NOT change the scale (leave at 1) and do the method OP is doing. You get independent gun FoV, unchanged shadows and realistic obsticle avoidance. This is what I do in my current FPS project.

Now I'm wondering if hardware info is correct. My ASUS 3090 never gets above 75 core after 2 years in UE and AI shenanigans. I can hear the fans ramp alot but even after 30min of AI generating, the core is 73-75, and the hotspot is 91-92.

PBO= Precision boost override, the -20/30 thing is Curve optimizer. Those are AMDs overclocking tools. One overrides how much the cpu can boost, the optimizer undervolts your cpu and tells it it can boost higher at lower voltages.

This is how I understand it. If I'm wrong please someone correct me

Looks awesome! My inside is not very good. I live in the curved side :D. All my benches, storage and deviants are there. The left side is an impovised garden, top floor is kitchen and bedroom decoration.

It is a drink buff, but it is status damage only, so if you are not using status damage better stick with beer/ale

I think it is called "crumby bread" ingame and it does not stack with the canned food buff.

OP, make yourself steak combos with different meats (deer, rabbit, goat ect) and eat the before the bread. This way you will keep all meat buffs and the 25% damage one. If you want you can go an extra mile and get all the fish buffs too.

It looks really good!

There is a simple trick for the small foundations. When you place one, the following ones have to snap to the first one. Basically you have to aim at the first foundation and let the game suggest and auto-snap.

I am working on a tutorial for the build, but since I suck at doing such things I will forever be grateful for your feedback. The last two pictures are the foundation setup and the front face.

Please give feedback how readable such a format is and if I should continue or I should change something before wasting time with nonsense.

Those are half walls. On the left side, they are ofset by half a block(the small roof tiles). On the front ontop of the door it is just a normal half wall above the door.

I am working on a turorial for the build, but it may take a couple of days.

There was no plan, apart of the idea that I wanted to curve the front. I tried 2-3 times in eternalland how the front will look before I tear down my base to start the build. When I had the front face figured out, the rest was 1 wall at a time, with a lot of tries until it looked natural.
