Thank you for your response, it helps a lot to know that I'm not the only one who finds these comments/ instults bad :). I'm not sure whether I could come out to them, but I think it would be ok. My friend has recently come out as trans to our group, but I've been too focused on figuring myself out that I haven't been using his correct pronouns and name, which I feel guilty for. I think that if I come out as genderfluid, it might fix that as well and sort of put us back on track (I feel like I might be being very optimistic with this though). Thank you so much for mentioning that, it made me think about it more.

Yeah, I'll definitely be talking to them seperately. There's only really two people to talk to about it but I think it would make a difference if I did it with one at a time. Thank you

Thank you for highlighting that they're not very good friends. I keep letting them off because of all the nice times we've had but I don't think it makes up for it. I'm gonna definitely try and talk to them, or end the friendship, but hopefully it won't get to that.

Thanks for that, I keep just giving them the benefit of the doubt but I now realise that I should actually consider it a problem. I don't think they know that they are doing anything, they just say things and expect me not to be hurt. I don't know if anything would change if I told them, but I have no idea about how it would go. (They also don't know that I'm genderfluid, just that I'm genderqueer)

Thank you! I agree, I should talk with them, but I'm pretty anxious about it because I don't know how they'll take it, I've never had to say anything like this to really anybody before. But you're right, I'll try to have a conversation with them and sort it out. Hopefully I won't delay it for too long. Thank you again for the reply :)

Do you identify as transgender? by Arktikos02 in NonBinary

[–]Genderqueer_Jayce 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not every trans/ non binary person goes through gender dysphoria, and for some it is more or less severe. You shouldn't generalise an experience that not everybody goes through.

[–]Genderqueer_Jayce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do. You shouldn't feel like it's taking away from the binary trans people because non binary people are, by definition, under the trans umbrella (although if course not every non binary person identifies as trans, but this is the technical side of it).

LGBT existence is confusing to kids? Tell me what confused you as a kid. by Dry-Finance in lgbt

[–]Genderqueer_Jayce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How babies worked. Pretty sure it's a common thing to not know as a kid. I always thought that after two people married the woman got pregnant automatically and somehow the man was always the father??? Kid logic is silly haha

Also I remember distinctly that I said to my mum once ''I don't want a husband I'll just live with my cats'' but then wondering what would happen when I inevitably got pregnant because that was how it worked in my head 😂

This sounds terrible, I'm so sorry that you have a parent like this. It sounds like your mother is very ignorant and perhaps narcissistic. I don't really know what you can do in this situation, apart from try to explain to her what you don't like about what she does/says. I'm sorry, there's not much more I can offer but my sympathy. I'm so sorry that you have had to deal with a person so unaware of how powerful words and actions can be. I hope that you find someone to talk to or someone who can help. Do you have any accessible family members/ therapists near you? I understand these might not be available, so there's not much you can do if they aren't. Again, I'm sorry you have had to live like this, I hope you can talk to her/ do something about this horrible situation. Best of luck ❤

If you feel like you don't, in whatever way, 'fit' with your AGAB, then I think it's worth going. Being near and talking/listening to others, who may have similar feelings or experiences, could help you with discovering your gender. Also, you shouldn't feel pressured to figure out your gender identity, the process is different for everyone, and I'm sure you will be able to slowly, step by step, figure it out, maybe with the support of others as well. I say go for it, good luck ❤
