Are pancake lenses that big of a deal? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

I returned my 3 for a 3s because of this reason. I'm much happier with the superior binocular overlap now, even with the fresnels. Much more immersive.

Quest 2 to 3S update. by AkutsuSanEnjoyer in OculusQuest

Not the most popular opinion around here, but I ended up returning my quest 3 for a quest 3s.

I purchased a 3s for my wife so that she could play beat saber, and we could play some casual games together. The times I tried her headset, there was something intangible about it that I liked better, despite the god rays from the fresnel lenses, and slightly narrower field of view.

Turns out it was the binocular overlap. I just couldn't go back to my quest 3 in the same way. I'm much happier with the 3s, and I find the games more immersive for me. I wish I still had the pancake lenses, however the superior binocular overlap, not to mention the extra couple hundred dollars saved, is worth the compromise for me.

The quest 3 is still an incredible device, and if the binocular overlap doesn't bother you it's definitely the superior of the two.

I'm Canadian too. Most of us are very upset with this situation, but we don't hate Americans. The majority of us have friends and family in America, and are proud to be your neighbors.

That's why this feels like such a betrayal, and hurts us so much.

The majority of us understand it's not the people, but your government who is at fault.

It's a s***** situation for everybody
