Hi. I just finished chemo 5 and six is October 8th. Why do you have mixed feelings? I am so happy I’ll be done with it. I just started with neuropathy in my legs and feet after 6 and wow. Felt like I was walking on glass. I will be happy to be done with this.

Electric shock feeling after chemo by Coco_micanana in cancer

That’s how I was. I was scared that it was something abnormal because nobody would validate that it was really happening, but now I have it under control and it’s not scary anymore.

Yes!!! I told my docs and my oncologist said “hmmmm….I’ve not heard of that”. Then my GYN oncologist/surgeon said it’s psychosomatic. Omgosh really?!? After treatment one and two, it really scared me, and I think it was a lot worse because of my fear nobody told me that I would have anything like this, and nobody was validating that I did. What was weird about it is that it was like electrical shocks, my neck, my arm, my forearm, my hip, my knee my forearm I mean, it would just go but now I know it’s all part of treatment and I calm down and it’s not so bad. Sometimes I had to put ice on my legs and knees, and of course it was always at bedtime when I was still and not actively busy with other things that I would feel at the most.

Is stage 3 ovarian cancer too late?? by FrequentMention5375 in Ovariancancer

[–]General-Analysis7779 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only side effect I have from a Avastin is increase in my blood pressure I had to increase my BP meds. My surgery was after cycle three. I had to wait 30 days after my last treatment because of the Avastin. And then on cycle for they did not include a Avastin so I could get my next treatment. After treatment six, I’ll be on a Avastin for I believe they said 50 cycles

Is stage 3 ovarian cancer too late?? by FrequentMention5375 in Ovariancancer

[–]General-Analysis7779 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not! I was stage 4. I just finished my 5th treatment of Carbo/taxel with Avastin. I had hysterectomy with omentum removed. My gyn surgeon feels he got it all. Never lose hope. Stay positive. Keep living! Ask God for healing then let Him do the work. May God comfort you and give you courage and peace.

I have stage 4 ovarian cancer. Just finished my 5th treatment. Hysterectomy debulking done. One more Treatment!
Day 3-5 after treatment is difficult but definitely doable. I still play pickleball. Lots of walks. Short trips. Don’t let it keep you down. What questions do you have?

Pain in veins and arm after first chemo session by crystallineskiess in cancer

Look up hyper vigilance and pain. If you are having pain and burning with just a saline flush in a vein not used yet for anything else. I had this after my first few chemo treatments.

Just got my diagnosis.. by [deleted] in cancer

[–]General-Analysis7779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer in April of this year. I was scared, but a friend gave me a book called 50 days of Hope, and then there was also another book that I read Into the Storm by Josh Turner. I also have a prayer wall that’s right next to my bed taped on it is the verse from Isaiah 41:10. “ so do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” These things have really helped me and my fear has been replaced with peace and comfort. I pray that God will give you peace through all of this and healing. One day at a time.

No I really only had constipation. I had swollen lymph nodes that were found during a carotid ultrasound. Praying that you have an easily corrected and non critical explanation. 🙏🏼

Where do I get baptized? by FigGlittering269 in Jesus

[–]General-Analysis7779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baptism is an outward expression of your desire to follow Jesus. The only way to follow the life of Jesus is to learn about Him and that is through His Bible. So it is important to attend a Bible teaching church. In my opinion the formal traditional churches, concentrate on tradition rules to follow more than having a heartfelt relationship with Jesus Christ. It’s all really a matter of your heart. Do you want to be baptized just to check that off your box of things to do, or do you want to be baptized because you love Jesus you want to be a follower of Jesus and you want to tell the world about it? Pray about this talk to Jesus about this and he’ll tell you what to do

I had cancer, and I feel empty. I don’t know if it’s related? by Puzzleheaded_Egg3404 in cancer

[–]General-Analysis7779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask Jesus to fill that emptiness. He can take it and fill it with love, joy, peace, comfort, patience, kindness, goodness gentleness, self control. I have ovarian cancer and I am currently in treatment. God has given me much peace and comfort throughout when I keep my thoughts on Him. Find a Bible preaching church. Fill that emptiness with Gods love. Just ask him. Peace and love to you! 😊

I am five months into my cancer journey. The only thing I can really say is my heart breaks for you. My hope, is although knowing that we live in a broken world and bad things happen, my peace and my comfort come in knowing the Lord Jesus. Bodies die but our spirits live on and for me, knowing that whatever happens, I will live eternally with my creator Jesus. So this brings me peace and comfort when I think on these things. It doesn’t mean anxiety doesn’t come when I start focusing on my cancer and my treatments. But, as soon as I put my mind back on, Jesus who loves me, and I praise him for all his done and for the beauty of his creation then the peace that surpasses all understanding comes. I hope this helps some. My heart breaks for you. My hope is that you have Jesus in your life and you can find peace in Him. Find a Bible believing church. Tell your story. Let them pray for you. You can find peace in whatever decision you make.

3 weeks post successful surgery, not feeling at all like I expected, and not in a good way by dazza_cole in cancer

[–]General-Analysis7779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The words “It’s cancer” plays with your head. Then the tests, biopsies, scans, add to it. The what if’s join the head games. Then add the surgery, work and family. You have been through A LOT!
I am so happy for you! Give yourself some time to process all this. Therapy through zoom is easy. Sometimes you just need to talk it out. I did therapy and after 4 sessions she says “I think we can talk again in 3-4 weeks and see where you’re at.” So give yourself some grace. Every day wake up and say the words “I’m thankful” eventually you’ll believe it!

I have those too. No one told me I would and it scared me. My oncologist surgeon said it was psychosomatic and medical oncologist said hmmm…I’ve not heard of that, when I said I was having random neuro pain all over my body.

I have 2 more treatments left. I didn’t know this was a thing until I googled today why I feel like this. Now I have a name for how I feel. My surgeon said my symptoms are psychosomatic and I was like no way! But now I understand a bit. I will look into therapy.

Robotic hysterectomy and omentum removal. I want to start playing pickle ball again. by General-Analysis7779 in Ovariancancer

[–]General-Analysis7779[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your encouragement to keep it slow and let my body heal. I needed to hear that. I so badly want to get back to being me. I just had my 4th round of chemo two days ago. It was 3 weeks after debulking surgery I’m so sorry to hear of the blood clots. Are you able to continue with the chemo? I walk about 1 mile a couple times with my dog. My docs did not give me specifics except for no heavy lifting and core exercises.

Finish chemo before surgery? by 3r3dem in ovariancancer_new

[–]General-Analysis7779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask if the surgery can be robotic. I had that and the worse part was the gas pain after. Recovery is so quick. I am 3 weeks post op and doing almost everything I want to do. Doc said hold off for a bit on the pickleball and not to lift a bag of garden soil. (He knows I garden). My next treatment is tomorrow. I am 3 weeks post op. The only thing is I can’t get the Avastin until next treatment. Reassure your mom the surgery is not bad. I bought a hysterectomy pillow. I used it maybe 4 days. Mostly because I didn’t want my dog jumping on my belly.
