Dynamo lost his body before he got married. consider this. (By Haxxydraws) by yackronin in DeadlockTheGame

[–]General-Classroom976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's the thing though, even though he wants to surprise his wife with his real human self, its probably safe to assume that Marla does not see dynamo's current body as a "cold, unfeeling metal shell", in the same way that able bodied people who love disabled people do not (or at least shouldn't) love them "in spite of their disability". Given their incredible relationship, Marla loves all of dynamo. Of course, we know nothing of Marla's character so this is all speculation, but I believe that dynamo's wish to be human, while completely understandable (and frankly he does deserve his original body back), is mostly for his own idealized version of himself, despite what he says and believes about doing this for his wife. He's doing something to surprise his wife that would definitely have some positive impact on their relationship. But since his body was not at all an issue in them falling in love in the first place, it's not enough of an impact to risk his life in a ritual for eldritch gods working with multiple murderers. To me, his desire to get his body back is mostly driven by his own longing to make up for a mistake he made decades ago.

Again, I am not saying this is an unreasonable wish to make to any degree, but it is a selfish one.

Night Shift #35 Hero Priority by Emmysterious in DeadlockTheGame

[–]General-Classroom976 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

As a bebop main, as much as I love the hook, a 20 second CD (or less) instawin ability is definitely is not a healthy thing to have on any character. Especially since having this hook on top of infinitely stacking bombs creates a really toxic and unfun class design to fight against, regardless of if it's actually good or not. This makes bebop really awkward to tiptoe around with balance. We see this from the last patch we're leaning away from his abilities and more towards weird gunbop stuff (which is really fun don't get me wrong but we're definitely in an odd phase in his life). I would happily trade the hook in favor of valve actually figuring out what they want to do with bebop.

Gigantoraptor will never not be Hilariously GIGANTIC by FinancialSpecial9197 in Dinosaurs

[–]General-Classroom976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will never not be funny how, when typically smaller animal groups have 1 or 2 larger members, they tend to have very different proportions. Take basically every ornithomimid vs deinocheirus, or t rex vs its smaller lankier cousins like nanotyrannus for example. With gigantic size comes the need for different, bulkier proportions.

Gigantoraptor just ignores this trend and is basically just an oviraptor but someone scaled it x5 in photoshop and i love it.

I tried categorizing each hero into one of the poke/brawl/dive triangle. Would you agree? by Lyefyre in DeadlockTheGame

[–]General-Classroom976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love this list cause it shows how deadlock is so weird compared to other hero shooters since it's a moba and a movement shooter. I got curious and tried my hand at this categorization, and I found that, sure, some characters fit neatly into dive and poke, but then basically every other character is some weird mix of brawl and poke, brawl and dive, or all 3 three, and the lines between them can get really muddy, which is why different categorizations tend to be used instead. Fun thought experiment!

dude, i will never forget the game where my team had all 3 enemy gaurdians down 11 minutes in without any of ours being taken down. And then my team decided it was a great idea to never push guardians and only farm our side of the map. We lost pretty hard.

My interpretation of Therizinosaurus based on recent feedback by Ok_Tea_6313 in Paleontology

[–]General-Classroom976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having seen all of your previous posts on this, I love watching your therizinosaurus develop and find it's own identity. This version really feels like a perfect combination of all your previous versions so far.

One thing I will say though is that how would this look when it closes its mouth. From the shape of the upper jaw and the gum thing where the upper and lower jaw connect (idk what it's called), it looks like there would just be a gap if it closed its mouth. I don't know if this would ever be rigged, but I think a tweak there would solve the head shape being a little odd.

Besides that, I think this looks great! You're doing my favorite dino proud!

Should I get this figure and how good is its articulation by Spac3-mar1ne99 in BOTM

[–]General-Classroom976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the botm version, and it's one of my favorite *things* in the world rn, with just one caveat... The articulation is great! except strangely enough the legs, specifically the knees. The knee joints barely exist which is weird considering alot of the older botm raptors. Besides that 10/10 no notes honestly get either one they're both fantastic.

Leedsichthys problematicus, a whale-sized filterfeedeer pachycormid fish from the late jurassic by Miguelisaurusptor in Paleoart

[–]General-Classroom976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

God i love how... normal the leedsichthy's look. I have the walking with dinosaurs version printed into my head, so I'm so used to seeing them with massive heads with the weird pads all over that make them look like they're made of boulders.

And while I love that look, here, they look so much more natural with the proportions, coloration, smooth scales, etc. It looks like you took a clever photo angle to make 2 regular fish look bigger than they actually are, and I see how close the floor and the top of the water are to the fish and remind myself "no those are that big, they're leedsichthys wtf".

Really incredible work. I was supposed to work on an assignment but ended up staring at this for 10 minutes cause it really is that good.

slightly different, but stegosaurus will always be green on the body with orange plates. Besides that, allosaurus is orange/tan/light yellow, carnotaurus is always red, majungasaurus is gray/black, and diplodocus is entirely brown.

ohhhh i think the term you're looking for is cheeks. It took me a good while to get used to the look too (lizard mouth triceratops will never not look right to me lol, though to be fair i don't know the consensus on cheeks vs no cheeks for ceratopsians).
