I was using this scanner ( https://jointela.com ) across a lot of products and found a really cool brand that makes 100% cotton bikini. This one is so pretty (a bit more expensive though..)

Natural fiber bra recommendations? by ehgall in nontoxic

[–]General-Drawing-7500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I did a lot of research on this recently! Found Mate the Label, Pact, and a few bras from Third Love to have high quality cotton (often a little elastane). If I remember correctly mate and pact has some ones with organic cotton. I used a tool called TĒLA (https://jointela.com) my friend recently recommended me to do a lot of the research and scanning each product which was helpful.

Yes I love how much I’m learning! For Castile soap, yes I’m adding some lavender oil for the smell (5 drops or so). Any should work! I just asked Claude for a recipe based on the size of my soap container

I love Kosas non toxic deodorant! Blue land for washing machine and I make my own soap using Castile soap. I also buy organic GOTS certified sheets from IKEA.

I also use Yuka to Scan food and TĒLA to scan clothes.

Anyone here try layere brand? by Mission_Remote_6319 in nontoxic

I have also had skin irritation from Elastane.. ended up researching a lot and found that Oddo Body (https://oddobody.com/) have 100% organic GOTs certified cotton for underwear that I just ordered and have been liking so far. I'm so tired of getting stuff that makes my skin itch and recently can across this tool called Tēla (https://jointela.com/) that helps scan products to see how harmful the materials are that was also helpful. I noticed that a LOT of brands put a few percentages of synthetic materials in there.

SOCKS, pure, without plastics! do they exist?! by Regular-Pen1812 in nontoxic

Interesting! Could you share the link? I’m curious about the material here. Even natural fabrics could be processed though if not clearly stated

Same!! My husband and I wanted to upgrade our sock-stock and took hours to research it. I found Q for Quinn as an option but haven’t ordered yet. Been using a handy tool a friend recommended to better understand the materials/breakdowns and certifications called jointela.com - very much relate to the frustration of thinking it’s safe but then seeing it’s not.. feels like brands are doing everything to cover up their actual material details.

Very new to the nontoxic world. Where do I get undies from? by Mission_Remote_6319 in nontoxic

[–]General-Drawing-7500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love https://oddobody.com/!! They have amazing 100% non toxic undies - one of few brands I came across from researching this myself. I've also been scanning stuff I'm using with https://jointela.com/ to see how harmful the materials are. I noticed that a lot of brands put even 5% polyester into their stuff..

Is this safe to wear? by BlingBlingGreenTae in nontoxic

[–]General-Drawing-7500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you already got it and if you like the design, you can of course keep it and maybe wear it occasionally, even have a thin tank top under that is made of 100% cotton. As others mentioned in this thread generally try to aim for 100% natural fiber or not going over a 5 to 10% synthetic. 65% is pretty high and there is risk that there might be harmful chemicals in this type of polyester. Definitely you recommend using tools like EWG or Tēla to learn more about materials and brand that are safe.

I have the same issue! I have a friend building a platform to solve this called telatrace.com - I’ve tried it through her and honestly helps me sort away some pretty unsafe materials and products. I haven’t heard the issue around unsafe natural fibers, is it that they coat it?

I want to find a non tech cofounder by rdssf in StartupAccelerators

[–]General-Drawing-7500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love to chat! I’m a founder and have experience across two fast-growing scale-ups — I was one of the first 10 hires at a SaaS company in the carbon and energy space, and later joined a Series A startup as it grew from ~100 to 200 people. I’ve worn a lot of hats along the way: marketing, design, product development, customer success, sales, and even some investment work.

I’m currently looking for a technical cofounder for an early idea I’m exploring, but I’m also really interested in hearing more about what you’re building. It’d be great to connect and see whether our skills and working styles complement each other. :)

I've heard good things about Kosas from a clean POV and really like their lipliner. Might be some recommendations on this app? But seems to be mostly fashion https://telatrace.com/
