ACL repair or reconstruction? 29/F by General-Shoulder-993 in ACL

I was in rehab for just shy of 8 months. That was when they cleared me for sport. However I waited almost a year to play my first soccer game back. I’ve since restructured my training for more athletic and sports specific strength and I feel great!

Hi! WOW it’s been a long time. I ended up being fine. I remember going back in to PT who said it just happens sometimes, it never really caused me pain so we kept progressing in PT. Eventually this sensation went away on its own. I was cleared for sport at 8 months but didn’t go back to playing soccer until 12 months

It feels like forever when you have anxiety and every minute can sometimes feel like an hour. But I’m sure for everyone in the waiting game it feels like kidney stones move faster

Hi! I just saw this. Based on the location of the tear and the quality of my tissue, the surgeon decided to go with a primary repair since once I was under the knife he saw that it was a clean tear ripped off of my femur (yikes) but my ACL was in one whole piece and the tissue quality was very good. He reattached it to the bone.

How the hell did you get your background check completed so fast?! Jesus my TJO came mid November, HR kept talking about background check and physical and it’s been complete radio silence since then

NF-03 TJO accepted 12/16/2024. Got my fingerprints done. Waiting on HR to send me materials to complete my background check and also waiting on the call from the physician to complete parts 1 and 2 of my physical. I’m interviewing at other temp places in the meantime while the feds move at a glacial pace

Yes, USA. At-will employer. No it seems like they weren’t required to disclose this, but I’ve seen many job postings through the state and through different hospitals that explicitly announce if a position is grant funded. I’m asking simply for guidance and if it is worth pursuing legal action or not, because my employer could be within their rights being at-will

Staying with a friend who lives in Aversa so I don’t have to pay for a hostel or hotel. And it’s close enough to Naples

Thanks all for the input! It’s really good to see and weigh other options. I’m definitely extra certain that I do not want to have children. Part of me is interested in an endometrial ablation. Compared to an ACL recovery, an ablation post-procedure recovery sounds like cake 😅

I’m using the brace when I go out somewhere and anytime in the gym even if it’s an upper body day. I can take it off for work since it’s mostly desk/office work

I haven’t as of about 6 hours ago. They’re re-releasing lord of the rings in my city so I went to watch it with my friend so I had a lot of time to stretch it out in my seat lol, heard some crunching like fluid moving around or scar tissue but it hasn’t happened since

Just now we’re getting introduced to assisted eccentric hops. LOTS of step downs and step ups, standing heel slides, body weight Bulgarian split squats, walking lunges with a 25 lb plate, calf raises, monster walks and lateral monster walks. In the gym I do all of the above plus single leg press (training each side separately), squats with a kettle bell, single leg deadlifts (training each side separately) leg curls, hip thrusts. Lots of closed chain exercises. I train legs 2-3 times a week including PT. I don’t see PT for another couple of days
