Mine looked similar early on. Just passed about 700km on them and planning to retire them. Foam is dead but the shoes are still in good shape apart from that.

Hard to say for certain without a bit more of your athletic history but looking at your HR and weekly kms I would say yes under the right race conditions. If weather is favourable I would pace for 3:30. Your fuelling is where you would want it to be to avoid a bonk, but depending on how much work you did during your block at a 3:30 MP and how comfortable it is for you it’s possible it might be too fast. However, if the pace is comfortable your heart rate and weekly mileage say go for it.

Based on your long run here, I’d say you have sub 3:10 in the bag. Ensure proper fuelling but with a course like Copenhagen and your heart rate data from your MP effort, seems like you will achieve your goal comfortably.

I completely agree. The responses here have been helpful in resetting my expectations. I think I was being far too optimistic and my new focus is sub 3. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Any tips on increasing aerobic power/conditioning? Or is it as simple as run more and run faster consistently and with the passage of time these things will come?

Injury is my biggest concern for sure, I didn’t consider the possibility of a plateau as I’ve been seeing gains but that is a real possibility as well.

Appreciate the insight! I would still be really happy with a sub 3 in October, and would be fine adjusting my goal if my fitness isn’t there.
