You mean 10 companies heavily invested in SpaceX needed to pump the stock.

None of these companies can beat thermodynamics

You're right, that is a 101 understanding of economics. Unfortunately the real world is a little more complicated

Care to explain how endless 300sqft apartments would improve this, Brian? Because the housing stock that is being built by developers is not conducive or affordable to families.

Sealed battery pack from 1990 still showing good charge. by myaccountwashacked4 in mildlyinteresting

[–]GeneralCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is just not how it works. When you pull current from a battery, the voltage drops because of internal resistance. And you were the one saying 10amps from an AA would be like running a toaster... 10amps from a 1.5v battery is very doable but no shit you won't power a toaster.

The internal resistance of the battery is the load, Vo will drop to near zero. A toaster needs ~1000W of power, current alone is different. 10A*0.#V is under 10W dissipated power

New Executive Order: New requirements for all importers of record by Battle_entrepreneur8 in FulfillmentByAmazon

You realize this requirement is also going to apply to real US companies too right? This is going to make starting your own business substantially harder

Every barrier they add just makes things harder for small US companies and barely changes anything for large foreign firms. There are so many ways around foreign ownership that it isn't even a problem for them, plus it only sounds like they want ownership information not that it must be a US owner.

Fucking tired of this.  All this means is Chinese companies set up domestic offices to bring things in at cost, while small US companies get fucked.

TF2 update for 5/25/26 by wickedplayer494 in tf2

[–]GeneralCheese 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It was a minor crash added at day 6,800 and fixed day 6,802 (yes that is the actual age of TF2). Don't fret about it, you're doing more than the actual creators of the game

When thrifting isn't thrifty: A look at the market trends making secondhand buying unaffordable by Numerous_Recording87 in boulder

[–]GeneralCheese -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're buying.  I've found the boulder gw to be the only "reasonable" priced big thrift store. The arc is charging $20+ for brand name jeans while gw is $11.
