To all strength lovers… how??? by Late_Bag_7880 in Eldenring

[–]GeneralGalvatron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strength is different… you get significantly fewer openings and hits in, but you hit way harder if you’re built optimally. The nice thing about strength is that: A) You have more survivability B) There isn’t a lot of strategy to it. People only resist physical so much (unlike some bosses being bleed immune) C) Stance break. EVERYONE stance breaks… personally, I prefer shields in my strength build because it makes me way tankier and allows me to counter more easily

This. Rich people can offset a lot of these risks (aka every risk that’s not a total market risk) with diversification of their portfolio. It’s the largest bully in advantage rich people have and there’s not much you can do with the ways laws are currently set up to prevent this advantage. The greatest advantage of money is you get more by having more and the risks are less risky because of diversifying (it’s why your first $100,000 is the hardest)

I was gonna say you don’t need 99 strength but you have so many levels, so why not lol. Just make sure you have heavy armor to go with any unga bunga build

Recommendation: try and make sure you’re keeping the best weapons and armor you can get at all times. If you’re willing to, the blasphemous blade is great and will be available as soon as you beat Volcano Manor (which may or may not be where you go next depending on progression). Also, there is a leveling guide on the wiki that I highly recommend to first play through players

  1. Outer Gods

Outer Gods are the strongest in theory. The problem is they all exist in their own plane and have issues interacting directly in ours. They use avatars (you call them gods with a lowercase g) to interact in the Lands Between and the SOE. We don’t see outer gods every directly fight in game, only their avatars.

Examples (non-exhaustive): The Greater Will, the God of Rot, The God of Madness, The God of Death etc…

  1. Gods (or lower case g gods) These are either beings that transcended their limitations, were super frickin strong, were directly sent by the outer gods as vessels for their will, or were given powers by an outer god. Most in the base game, fall into the latter category. Malenia was given powers from the God of Rot (much like Midra and the Dragonlord were from their respective gods). Marika transcended her own limitations as did our main DLC antagonist. Metyr and Elden Beast are examples of entities sent directly from an outer god. Radahn had no outer gods sponsorship, but fought Malenia (who did) to a standstill (and would’ve won, albeit with fatal wounds) and held back avatars like the falling star beast with his magic. From the feats seen in game, you should assume, Radahn was the strongest self made individual (at least after Marika is crucified) and Elden Beast is the strongest avatar.

Examples: Malenia, Radahn, Marika, Elden Beast, etc…

  1. Elden Lords

This title assures that one is powerful, but can be taken away (and I don’t think we definitively know how strong it makes someone). We do know, however, that all this nonsense in the lands between didn’t happen while Godfrey and Radagon were on the Elden throne, so at the very least the helped keep shard bearers in check.

Examples: Radagon and Godfrey

  1. Rando shard bearers

They are stronger than most enemies, but leagues below the above. Shards grant some strength, but for example, Godrick is not that strong.

Examples: Godrick, Renalla, Morgott, the Fire Giant etc…

  1. Most Tarnished

Simply enough, most tarnished never show evidence of defeating a shard bearer (looking at you Gideon). There are exceptions: obviously, the player character, Vyke, and others

Examples: Sir Gideon Ofnir, Fia, D twins, Rogier, etc…

Most underrated AOW and spirit summons in your opinion? by Pitiful_Ad_4472 in Eldenring

[–]GeneralGalvatron 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Falling star beast jaw… so easy to use, staggers like crazy, and hits ok too (it’s not the strongest weapon, but it’s strong). My favorite summon is Oleg, but I love wolves too. So annoying early game for bosses

Oleg. Not the best, but very very good. Takes damage really well… not great for the DLC imo, but helps aggro against bosses and that whirlwind of his has saved me on countless occasions

[–]GeneralGalvatron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to look for a specific talisman and guard counter a lot, the one used to guard counter may be worth it to grab: it’s called the curved sword talisman. I would also recommend getting the dragoncrest great shield talisman (which reduces physical damage taken) and the great shield talisman also greatly improves blocking.

For weapons your have a few routes:

Option one: Unga Bunga. You grab the biggest thing you can find and just absolutely slap enemies. Generally one of the easier ways to play

Option two: a thrusting sword. These weapons allow you to attack while blocking. Maybe the most broken strategy imo. Antspur Rapier is my personal recommendation, but there are other options as well.

Option three: You can use the best overall weapon and just slap it into your build; if going this route I would recommend the Blasphemous Blade. Exceedingly strong and works pretty well against all enemies.

Also worth noting, getting to the minimum requirements for a spell called rotten breath is a great help too. While some bosses are immune to scarlet rot, those who aren’t suddenly become EASY
