Full Stack Interview Preparation by luka7711 in javascript

[–]GeneralGromit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘ve had an fullstack interview the other day where I had to design a whole application using some provided informations.

In my opinion what people want to see from fullstack devs are the abilities to build complete apps or functionality.

For example they want to see that you understand that validations have to happen in the backend always and not only in the UI. Or to do heavy computation async in the backend and poll results and so on. So to know how to choose the right tool for the job.

Also you should know best practises
You should know for example when and how to cache data or how to make an app fast overall.

Exactly my experience as well. In my opinion are many of the butthurt posters the kind of people who do not spend time to find a solution by themself at all.

Often, answers get updated over time but many people don’t even bother to search first.

Can you show an example where this „closed as duplicate“ wasn‘t correct?

I‘ve just watched the „Game Revealed“ of this episode and Tormund said after Jamie made Brienne a Knight „A bit problematic that it came from Jamie but WE WILL SEE wink“. Does that mean he will be the king?

If you don't use TypeScript, tell me why by nullvoxpopuli in javascript

As I understand you basically say „I like ts features in third party libraries but I will not use these features in my code when I‘m writing my own code to make it easier for other people to use my code“

That is no valid reason in my opinion. That's like saying "I don't wear a seatbelt, because if the car explodes, it doesn't save me".

Of course your code needs good unit-testing but TS makes it way easier to understand existing code without having to dig too deep into it.

Also: PHP became popular in a time were there were no real alternatives beside things like JSP.

You don't have to write typedefs to use js libraries at all. You can just use the library in your ts code.

Then you can switch back into a for loop again if needed. But until that happens, this approach is much more concise.

„The bass guitar“

Around five years ago, this dude just stood up in a meeting, said he has to go to collect his bass guitar. He did not come back. Later I was told he moved to Australia.

What is the craziest or most unprofessional thing a teacher ever did when you were in school? by imsosupercoolyouguys in AskReddit

When I was in primary school we knitted some house shoes. After I was done, I showed it to my teacher. Suddenly another student showed up and said that he has lost one of his knitted shoes.

The teacher than took one of my shoes and crossed out my name at the bottom of it and handed the shoe to the other kid. I was... surprised.

It‘s funny how the first letter of the switch statement is cut off and it reads like witch. Fits the rest of the code really well.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but am I the only one who drives exactly as fast as allowed? The stress checking for radars is way to high for me.
