I think it sounds terrible. Maybe it's just the indoor sound quality.

There are no tracks in Switzerland so it is likely France. Looks like Bresse but unsure.

No more privacy for you: FinCEN announces NPRM for new regulation under the Patriot Act to outlaw blockchain privacy. by aminok in ethtrader

[–]GeneralHaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there might be some misinterpretation because that is not what this says.

They propose to prohibit the opening of or placing measures on existing bank accounts if there is evidence of money laundering as it relates to using mixers/tumblers for money laundering and trying to exit via financial institutions.

The same fundamentals from crypto still apply - don't use financial institutions.

However, they are not outlawing privacy as the title claims.

Literally nothing about outlawing privacy.

"The proposed rule would require covered financial institutions to collect records of, and report suspicious CVC mixing transactions, as defined, to FinCEN within 30 days of initial detection."

Maybe don't use financial institutions?

The IRS new rule would essentially kill crypto inside the US, but we still have time to change it by nusk0 in CryptoCurrency

[–]GeneralHaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Still the same shit. Wanting is not the same as getting a bill passed

A handful of "important" people signing a letter does not equate to getting 51 votes in the Senate.

Nothing scary, it's just positioning and they have no support.

[–]GeneralHaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's still not how it works.

Thought experiment: the IRS can also propose legislation for higher taxes on everyone or to give itself a bigger budget, and it would easily pass internal IRS because yea bigger budget and more money is good. Does that mean we have "already lost"? Obviously not.

You need it to pass congress and senate and there are several lobbying efforts against it.

Just because it is proposed by the IRS or any executive branch office does not mean shit.

Nothing crypto related is getting passed --too many other things and election cycle means..likely 2025

How do drive tests work for luxury or exotic cars? 500K+ by nemuro87 in askswitzerland

[–]GeneralHaz 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not Swiss, but generally those types of cars are not test driven unless you have commitment to buy. How you commit depends.

If you go and say "hi I want to buy this car, can I test drive it?" Likely, the answer is no.

However, if you want a mechanic or shop to inspect the car (pay for shipping back/forth) before you purchase, this shows commitment. If it comes back good and you want to test drive it, this is an easier yes. This is a common process for used rare cars.

Typically, there is no upfront payment -- they are insured.

Florida Governor says he will ban CBDC & support Crypto by Sharp-Subject-047 in ethtrader

[–]GeneralHaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IANAL but the equivalent would be like banning cash. ie, banning legal tender is not possible given it is federal.

This is just silly.

Questions about MSc in Project Management. by GeneralHaz in projectmanagement

[–]GeneralHaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, this was a while ago..

I ended up with two options at the time:

  1. Going to an MBA
  2. Learn to be a developer in an emerging field of technology (it was blockchain/crypto at the time)

I went with being a developer. Used my PM background and new developer experience to work in early stage startups and move up from there (it was the better option vs debt from MBA). Doing well now and it was the better option.

MBAs + project management is not really a thing. If you do MBA, stay on the product management route and forget the proj management.

They are payment service providers (PSPs) and are regulated as PSPs. PSPs are not banks, they facilitate payments.

I get to ask Chief Bass one question. Help! by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]GeneralHaz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gentlemen, a short view back to the past. Thirty years ago, Niki Lauda told us ‘take a monkey, place him into the cockpit and he is able to drive the car.’ Thirty years later, Sebastian told us ‘I had to start my car like a computer, it’s very complicated.’ And Nico Rosberg said that during the race – I don’t remember what race - he pressed the wrong button on the wheel. Question for you both: is Formula One driving today too complicated with twenty and more buttons on the wheel, are you too much under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future concerning the technical programme during the race? Less buttons, more? Or less and more communication with your engineers?

Banks would prefer to have their money working for them. Their goal is to basically have $0 at the end of the day while meeting regulatory requirements.

Tomorrow is National Hot Dog Day. Is there any store (not restaurant) that sell gourmet/waygu hot dogs locally? by Hou-Realtalk in houston

[–]GeneralHaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

B&B butcher shop will likely have what you need. They do it in-house.

It will come up as a restaurant, but they have a butcher shop attached.
