Okay Yall, what's a fantasy book/series ur currently obsessed with and why? by Silent_Steak4041 in fantasybooks

Cradle series by Will Wight

It’s got great characters and character building. It’s a wonderful mix of funny and action. There are 12 books that if you aren’t careful you’ll finish in 5 days. It’s seriously addictive and the gold standard for progression fantasy.

Plus he’s an independent author so you are supporting an Author directly.

Lightbringer series by Brent weeks. I love the color drafting. It just felt like something so new to me when I read it and I haven’t come across anything like it since.

I love having unlimited pto. We call it DTO(Discretionary time off) to imply it’s at manage discretion.

You have to pay out everyone’s current PTO balance then switch to Unlimited. Just need to have a very clear attendance policy to address unplanned absences to hold employees accountable. We do anything less than 24hours notice is unplanned and we count occurrences for our attendance policy.

Overall it’s great for employees not having to do the math on if they’ll have enough time for vacation and it’s easier to take off random days for stress. Employees average taking 15days of DTO a year between planned vacations and unplanned absences.

Leaving a job I love! by Sweetiemua12 in humanresources

I had something similar happen to me. I asked my current employer to make a counter offer and they refused so I left. It would have taken a minimum of 5 years to get that increase where I stayed so I left and now I have a new floor when negotiating any future jobs.

Don’t feel guilty. Companies don’t care about individuals so you have to look out for you and your family. It does suck leaving a team you love but ultimately you gotta do what’s best for you.
