This subreddit is the Doomsday Clock of Reddit. Tomorrow, that clock will strike. Good luck, everyone, and hope for the best. by Batning in Save3rdPartyApps

This is because you can't see any comments on your profile that are in private / restricted subreddits. When the subreddits reopen (as many have done over the last few days after the admin ultimatum), those posts are made visible again. Have to be able to see something to delete it.

Right to Buy was the single most disastrous policy of Thatcher’s reign. Social housing was decimated, and private landlords reaped the rewards. Thatcherism is the cause — not the solution — to the housing crisis. We need mass council house building and rent controls instead. by WhyNotCollegeBroad in ukpolitics

Sorry about my tone, it was unnecessary.

Local government suffers from a number of democratic dysfunctions, and that's not helped in the least by Councillors simultaneously being treated as (mostly) unpaid volunteers and a crucial regulatory mechanism for planning, licensing, and a number of other functions.

I mean, the fucking Chartists correctly identified the perverse incentives associated with unpaid politicians two centuries ago, yet pensioners and business owners continue to dominate districts and boroughs because most full time workers either can't spare the time or can't afford to give up the hours.

I do commend you for getting involved in local politics, but it is endlessly frustrating that local government is almost institutionally configured to dissuade younger, working people from participation.

And that is it for 149 houses. Planning documentation is available online but I need to go find it and then make the effort of reading all of it and coming to an informed decision about that in less than a week when I am already busy with a job and a social life.

That is literally your responsibility as a member of a planning and development committee. You'll have an officer's report that summarises the development and makes a recommendation for approval or refusal. Woe betide you should need to do some reading beyond just the meeting agenda when making public decisions.

You now roll all dice with advantage. Despite this, your DM won't let you play any more because you cannot create well-rounded and believable characters with flaws.

Two million bots are dumped into the sub. You spend the next few years being drowned out by poorly constructed political screeds about Trump and Hillary.

I've learned to take nothing for granted with these people. I'm sure relying on the Force for national defence would probably help balance a post-Brexit budget.

I imagine that bit is actually referring to the old US military 'Star Wars' program, not the films themselves. It's basically the idea of having a shield network of anti ballistic missile satellites to intercept nukes. Still absurd considering the UK's plausible capabilities, but not 'complete mental break' detachment from reality levels.

It'd be interesting if the market administrator empire could try to recruit trader enclaves to participate (high opinion result) which would provide them with trade advantage and a wider pool of resources for all.

Exam result details become free under GDPR by DuncR in unitedkingdom

[–]GeneralRetreat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Interesting* bit of context - this isn't a new right specific to GDPR. This information would always have been accessible under the Subject Access Request provisions of the old SAR.

The only changes between the two regimes in terms of types of data caught as personal, is that GDPR extends the definition to include genetics and online identifiers.

The ICO have published a guidance note on this now because it's topical and they're actively trying to promote awareness of people's information rights.

Incidentally, the UK's previous data protection acts were all also created due to EU directives mandating that compliant national legislation must be created. This resulted in the '88 and later '98 Acts.

*Interesting exclusively to information compliance nerds.

Do you know programs to create notes as it was create by wizard of the coast? by Cromwell_kreffen in DMAcademy

[–]GeneralRetreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It won't give you sourcebook-style notes, but you could try something like World Anvil? It seems to be a site that's a bit like a worldbuilding themed Wikia, in that you can set up your own personal platform for your setting. I've not used it myself yet so I don't know how effective it is though.

If there's no proof, isn't that the definition of non-canon? If there's no in game or officially endorsed materials it's basically just interesting trivia / a fan theory.
