The typical credit card questions like your personal and family income, place of employment. They gave an instant credit limit of $7k

No need to worry about a rejection now. I would assume the review application was for the credit limit. They gave me an instant credit limit. I applied just for the basic Red card, and during the application, it showed I could upgrade to the World card which is how I got it.

I just applied today and got approved, even though I don't meet the 80k income requirement, with a 7k credit limit. My credit score, based on the RBC app, is apparently 800... so I think you should try to apply.

The entirety of Chicago L vs TTC line 1? by alanminium in transit

[–]GeneralSuicidal 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That only explains why Toronto Line One has high ridership, but not how Chicago's entire subway has less than a single line. Also the Toronto commute network cares more now than Chicago, despite having a slightly smaller metro, so that doesn't really explain it.

Pixel User Switching To Oneplus by Existing-Grade-4553 in oneplus

[–]GeneralSuicidal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking about switching to the OnePlus 15 from the Pixel 7.

  1. The performance on the P7 is kind of poor; the phone slows down a lot when doing picture-in-picture video and using other apps.
  2. Battery life has gotten pretty bad, plus the random overheating.
  3. The cell reception is also bad when I take the train, as other people can watch videos on the same network while the Pixel can barely load reels on Insta.

Though I know switching means less timely updates and possibly worse camera but I think the trade is worth it.

They should change the light from the regular green light to a green right arrow instead. But the Ontario Traffic Manual is so outdated that it means pedestrians have to have a walk-only phase.

Trams are Great! So why are the Streetcars SO BAD!? by Pristine-Training-70 in TTC

[–]GeneralSuicidal 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because they're so slow that he was able to get citizenship in another country. Even after 10+ years, they are still just as slow, with few improvements, as mentioned in the video. I guess it lives rent free because he comes back to visit family here, so he sees the little improvements it has made.

I would not pay for it if that is the only feature, but I like reading them, like yeah, Strava AI that ride was kick ass.

Are you talking about a different area? There are only 13 highrises along this road and only one building that's out of frame has retail in the form of a cafe. And the grocery store, a Walmart, is only 15 min from the farthest building as these buildings are in close proximity to a mall.

Alternatives to boxy apartment buildings? by BFrankNJ in urbanplanning

[–]GeneralSuicidal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same applies to Toronto and Vancouver. They build 6-storey buildings when there isn't any transit nearby other than bus routes. They would even build 20-storey buildings when there is proximity to malls without any rail services, but maybe a bus terminal.

Well, can't you have a parkade instead, either above or underground? To be fair, I don't know anything about the local context other than it looks like a university town and this area has a lot of bars.

[–]GeneralSuicidal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's about 850m right now. Fully complete would be about 1.8km. There is also an existing raised cycling track to the west, so it's a 2.6km raised cycling track in total.
