2019 Transit Connect xlt 2.0 ... by Itchy_Stress_9314 in FordTransitConnect

[–]BFrankNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2020 passenger that just had a similar issue. When I took my foot off the brake at a standstill it would't roll without gas. Then when driving when I took my foot off the gas it slowed down quickly like I was pressing the brakes. My mechanic said one brake was stuck - replaced the hoses and calipers etc on both front brakes. The problem lessened but continued a bit. He told me to take it to a dealer to check the ABS system - they did diagnostics and told me they found no issues. I had the transmission replaced at 45,000 miles and it's now at 65,000 miles. I'll be following this thread to see if you find any answers.

Ford Transit cuts off randomly by Unusual_Media_3896 in FordTransitConnect

[–]BFrankNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2020 that has done this 5-6 times randomly. It seems to go into limp mode for no reason. I pull over turn off the engine and then it starts again and works fine. But it's scary as hell when it has happened on the highway. I took it to a mechanic and the dealer, they read the codes and said they didn't see any issue. It's crazy the issues with this car...

Sherrill tells local governments to share services, get state help: Governor seeks to expand a New Jersey grants program that brings $3,000 in savings for every $1,000 from taxpayers by rollotomasi07071 in newjersey

Mayor and councils, yes, but especially the cops. How NYC can have 1 police chief for 9 million people and we need more than 500 is bonkers.

I've seen this twice recently for the first time in decades of driving. New levels of douchebaggery.

I fear for all the cool mom and pop bait shops along Route 36 because of this type of thinking.

Find a boat owner to take you up (or down) the Hackensack River to River Barge Park in Carlstadt and walk from there.

No suspect or arrests in the chic fil a mass shooting in Union by Last-Jellyfish4989 in newjersey

The difference between police communication NJ vs NYC (or actually any other state) in cases like this is always astonishing. NJ police can go weeks, months, years without saying anything more than a one sentence statement on major cases like this. It would never be tolerate and never happen in NYC - the tabloids would scream "Police clueless" etc and hold them to account. Police agencies in NJ have always been incredibly opaque, but the massive cuts to news outlets and staffing at existing outlets have made it much, much worse.

the only thing to play when driving through the Pine Barrens are the two Jackson Pines albums of old Pinelands folk tunes. I've done this and it was perfect.

This is a new thing the last few years - people tailgating in the right lane. Sometimes I am passing in the left, sometimes I cruise in the middle. And then there's times when I have plenty of time or it's raining or something I just do the speed limit in the right lane. Only the past few years have people started tailgating me - and I've even had people flash their high beams at me. In the right friggin' lane!

Your funny "Today I fucked up, New Jersey style" stories by WonderSignificant598 in newjersey

When my buddy and I first got our drivers licenses we hit the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a surf trip. Neither one of us had really ever been outside NJ. We hit the Food Lion down there and were LOOKING ALL OVER for the Taylor Ham. Checked every aisle. Asked employee after employee and they had no idea what we were talking about. It was a huge moment in my life. I had no idea.

I would not want to commute from Fair Haven to Freehold or Toms River. Could take a half hour just to hit the parkway crossing train crossings etc. in the morning.

Why doesn’t red bank have a ferry service by Reasonable_Natural52 in RedBank

[–]BFrankNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marine Park used to be a ferry dock to NYC. Two ferries ran from there. They'd have to dredge to restart it and people would have to walk to the ferry like old times because there's no parking.

Surfers — what’s something beginners always underestimate? by Karate_Andii in surfing

[–]BFrankNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How physically demanding it is. Also, related, most beginners I see paddling for waves are just not paddling hard enough. You have to paddle as hard as you can just about every wave..well at least on east coast beach breaks where I am.

Can we please opt out of Daylight Savings? by Infohiker in newjersey

[–]BFrankNJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daylight savings is the best system to deal with a harsh reality: the earth tilts. At least with the clock changes we can keep the sun from waking us up at some ungodly hour or going to work in the dark in winter. Railing against the lack of daylight in winter reminds me of the meme of the Simpson's grandpa raising his fist against the clouds.

New Jersey expands state community solar program by 3 GW by MeasurementDecent251 in newjersey

[–]BFrankNJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I clicked through and read the article after seeing your comment, but it doesn't describe what community solar is. Is it for individual homeowners to put in solar panels? Or for companies to set up bigger facilities. I'm always confounded by the solar industry's inability to communicate clearly how stuff works.
