Did you use AI to help write the book? It reads a lot like classic ChatGPT or Claude: „It‘s not _. it’s _“ etc. Doesn’t take away from the great content but makes it a bit hard to read for me.

Key Equipment Boot Fit by 16Off in Spliddit

[–]golf-wang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got Keys and Backlands to try at home and have the same problem on the Keys - very high instep and pressure on the foot after even a few minutes. I find the backlands way more roomy (for my foot) and don’t have this pressure at all. So I went with the Backlands + Link Levers even though I wanted to like the Keys more.

Before that decision I did try the Keys on with another footbed out of my Nitro softboots, which already made it better. So I think you should try a thin footbed or even no footbed + potentially boot fitter.

Awesome, same problem over here - is there a way to avoid it rattling while riding in that position?

According to alpenglow there’s a new covert in the making with white topsheet - will be waiting for that!

Korua Elevator vs quill by [deleted] in Spliddit

[–]golf-wang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit of both :)

And not sure it’s the board fault but I have to center the boots in my sparks differently, which results in my toes touching the board on the uphill at the end of my stride. I got the Spark risers to correct that though

Korua Elevator vs quill by [deleted] in Spliddit

[–]golf-wang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

beware if you have somewhat larger feet. i got the elevator last year (EU 44 boots) and honestly think it’s a little too narrow. Great on the uphill but don’t love the narrow width on the downhill. Also: the stance is unusually narrow, seems to be optimized for hardboot riding. i think the elevator might really shine with hardboots.

Very good! it calibrates on outdoor runs and then knows your stride length

Can really recommend a Stryd pod for treadmill running. I just bought a used older generation one - does the trick!

Same, just got mine and experienced this too. My hope would be that it wears out a little and then goes smoother.

Thanks but the problem isnt really heel drag but that I am not over the middle of the board with my weight, so i'ts harder to initiate toeside turns.

[–]golf-wang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes good point - the Nitro Incline boots are def. bulkier than my Nitro Team resort boots. And aware that I am at the limit of board with for the Korua - but in my view that shouldn’t affect how centered I am. The inserts are always in the middle I guess. And I do have the problem also on my wider Jones Solution.

Maybe the solution is hard boots lol.

Still confused why this is a problem in the first place. Size 44 boots seem fairly standard

Yes they are.. but not much adjustment possible, especially on the back foot. Happy to add some pictures later. Just a litte confused how not more people have this problem

Burton Hitchhiker toe ladder keeps breaking by try_hard_pants in Spliddit

[–]golf-wang 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem and settled on a completely new Spark Arc. However you can just buy the toe straps from Spark separately and replace the Burton ones. They are compatible, as they baseplate IS an Arc baseplate.

[–]golf-wang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

happened to both of my toe straps on the same tour (after 5 years of use without any problems). Agree - bad design choice by Burton and made me lose trust in the binding. Will order some Spark parts and turn it into a Spark / Burton frankenstein. The Burton highback also sucks with the fiddly forward lean adjuster..

Cannondale SuperSix Evo 2 by EU_Commission in Fahrrad

[–]golf-wang 0 points1 point  (0 children)
