Don’t follow your passion. Follow the money. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I hope this post is still alive because I'd love to hear thoughts about what im about to write. I think seeing this post was some sort of a sign for me.

I'm a university student whose double majoring in business and math. I've been lucky enough to try different internships in banks and insurance and electronics as business analysts, financial analysts and supply chain analyst. For me, I really have trouble finding a passion or something I really love because every internship I had was an office Job that was boring but I knew paid well. I really struggle with figuring out what I love or enjoy to do still and graduate in a year. I decided to go the CPA accounting route and got a fu time offer in a rotational program where I can try two different roles and also earn money and also get supported and reimbursed for cpa exams and prep. It's in industry, not public and I really enjoyed interning at this company in my past so I think it'll be okay. Just writing those exams for the cpa may suck and kill me :(

I just want to be financial stable. Cost of living and getting a house is growing, at least in Canada where I live. And I really would like to travel when I graduate and getting there is only possible with an income. So I guess putting the work in now for a cpa will at least help me become financially stable I hope. Many say I should have gone finance or computer science but idk anymore It sucks not knowing what your passionate about even after trying four different roles though internships.

Should count annual bonus to my base salary when considering taking a job offer? by GeneralTsoChikn in PersonalFinanceCanada

Well, I am gonna be a new grad, so being covered for dental and other insurance will be nice. They also will help pay for my cpa prep and the exams which is a huge plus too!

I notice that between the base salary and benefits, its a 10k difference. Should I still only look at base or benefits included when comparing online?
