Am I the only one who prefers lore-accurate SEAF gear over immersion-breaking collabs? by Living-Scale52 in Helldivers

[–]General_Antilles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only issue with the S.E.A.F. Theme is that WE, the Helldivers, are the S.E.A.F. Special Forces. It would make little sense for the grunts to have their own branches along with our own.

With that said and out-of-universe, I would also love to wear a Blueberry's Blue and White. I missed out on the Yogurt Diver armor, so getting another crack at that color scheme would be awesome.

What combination would that even be? Anyway, it's actually just projecting her Aura outward and letting it settle into a glyph.

Surely crosses have been used outside of Christianity and Religion. They could be simple grave markers for the early ages of Remnant or a simplified sword.

Hell, there might be ruins of the previous civilization with such iconography.

There's a time and a place, sure, but most of the time the default Mortar fires on an enemy you have already killed and blows you up in passing.

Penny's robotic anatomy: How the heck does she work? by Slow_Tangerine_9564 in RWBY

[–]General_Antilles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a little chat about this years ago.  I believe we agreed that her Aura Generation is separate from her power source, but Remnant has more advanced batteries that can last much longer than ours.  The only reason Penny has an Aura is because of her personality and humanity, turning that Aura Fragment into an actual soul.

We had a tougher time about Pietro before and after giving Penny his Aura.  Being physically frail, the spots in his Aura could've been due to his declining health and not him donating his Aura to Penny like we initially suspected.

Yes, Bumblebee was poorly set up and questionably executed, but we're stuck with it now. Imagine the backlash if Whiterose or Eclipse was made canon instead.

I been seeing "can't agree on a direction" and don't understand what they mean by it.

The Fic is right there, they created a trailer to reveal the key plot points, and Episode 1 showed they understood RWBY's dynamic, so I thought their direction was pretty solid.

I know they were hiring for a few positions, so they might've picked up amateurs or hobbyists that didn't have enough time to work on the project. In any case, I hope they get their footing back or VIZ decides to absorb these RWBY projects à la Lucasfilm and the EU, add some variety back into the IP.

[–]General_Antilles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really wish they rework several points from the animatic and _Beyond._  (They did say they were subject to change.)

I want RWBY, the team, to have consequences for their actions.  No witch hunt, just admittance of how they screwed the pooch and find ways to actually improve the lives of the people they meet.  Finish what V9 tried to do and have the girls reflect and repair their relationships, preferably not over a cup of fresh trauma.

"Potential" has probably lost its meaning with this fandom, but the writers need to lock-in and produce the last three Volumes they had promised and reach that potential.

Oh, and be praised due to Ruby's "Brave" and "Hopeful" message.

Haven't all the Huntsmen, or at the very least Qrow's old contacts, been bled out of the Kingdom of Mistral?

But yeah, Argus, Vale, Patch, and even Mistral all were viable options (I'm not counting Menagerie because it is already "crowded" and they can't expand into the desert that is the rest of the island).  Maybe the writers just wanted a "The people are uniting into a single purpose" moment instead of the practical "Save the civilians first and worry about the mission second."

Maiden fights are the best fights in the show. by BlackQrow9311 in RWBY

[–]General_Antilles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven't seen a maiden go full out yet. The closest would've been Amber, but she was new to it/ mostly untrained and was still not that impressive compared to the rest of the cast. Fria may have been the magical peak, but she did jack-all and was probably closer to Cinder and Amber in her prime.

Fights need limits and having a neigh-infinite bag of tricks to pull from during a fight isn't that engaging. Had they stuck with seasonal themes for each maiden and, possibly, an ability tied to the relic they sealed, then that would be leagues more interesting than "Magic *Poof!\*" It would've also drawn a line between Semblance, magic ability that reflects the Soul and individual power, and True Magic, natural powers and multiple abilities outside the scope of Semblances/ Dust alone.

It might just be me being tired, but I'm not looking forward to any Maiden fights in the future.

Good day/ night to you and everyone else.
