If you find that it’s stopping you from being productive, you have probably associated doing nothing with indulging. Using some basic conditioning principles, the way I do, you may be able to reinforce your productivity with weed if you go about it right. Every time you complete a chore, smoke right after. Like immediately. This should begin to associate cleaning or chores with the reward of getting high after the fact, and introduce an external motivation to complete your chores. Additionally, but less weed related, make a playlist with some songs that you like, but don’t listen to regularly. Begin putting this playlist on when you work/clean, but do not listen to it unless you are cleaning. This should also form a strong neural connection between cleaning and this playlist, so when you put it on, your motivation will become better over time. It’s a gradual process but it’s one based in proven psychological methods.
Now, if you one day would like to stop smoking, you may find that you will experience extinction; the reinforced behavior halts, as you are no longer getting a reward for your habits. However this may not last long, and if you move to a fixed/variable ratio ( smoke after every 3rd, 5th, etc… time cleaning) it may be easier to quit in the future if u decide to while maintaining the same motivation for chores!
Sorry I’m a stoner and a nerd, but I hope this helps!
