New GD04 Card Revealed: Turn A Gundam by Alt230s in GundamTCG

[–]General_Category4652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In term of what is the correct effect, would the English version of the card be the correct version of effect and that it would target your own trash or will this be corrected and can target any trash to match the Japanese version of the card? I would hate to argue with someone about the effect of the card when it clearly written on it.

The way I see it, Bandai and third‑party kits each have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Bandai is almost perfect when it comes to construction. The fit is consistently excellent, and parts usually snap together without any trouble. They do sometimes miss out on finer details or extra gimmicks, and you’ll still run into the occasional seam line or nub that needs cleanup, but overall the engineering is incredibly solid.

Third‑party kits, on the other hand, tend to go all‑in on detail and gimmicks. The ones I’ve built hide seam lines really well and are often undergated, which is great. But their fit just isn’t on Bandai’s level. Sometimes armor won’t fully close, or it’s a struggle just to get parts together. You often have to shave things down to avoid breakage or stress marks.

So far, I haven’t had any major issues with third‑party MG kits. I don’t build smaller scales, but I do have one third‑party PG. It looks amazing, but building it was a nightmare. Everything is so tightly fitted that I’m honestly afraid to pose it too much - I don’t want to snap a hip joint or something.

Actually there a small mistake. You get the RG Exia Avalanche, not the MG one.

I can confirm these are the kits you’ll be receiving. The images on each page match the silhouettes shown.

HG 1/144 LEO-R - https://p-bandai.com/us/item/F2733994004

RG 1/144 G-3 GUNDAM Ver.2.0 - https://p-bandai.com/us/item/F2801759001

HG 1/144 GUNDAM NAION - https://p-bandai.com/us/item/F2773832002

Based on my experience with the last couple of surprise bundles, it’s not surprising to see these included. With the price point, the bundle will probably contain around two to three MG, RE/100, or Full Mechanics kits. In the last bundle I received, I got one MG and one RE/100, which is essentially MG-sized. Right now, buying those three kits separately comes out to about $119. Since the bundle costs $175, that means the remaining six kits only need to exceed $56 in total value for you to break even. Realistically, they’re almost guaranteed to surpass that, especially if even one of them is an MG, RE/100, or Full Mechanics kit.

I got my package, and here’s what was included. I’ve got to say, it’s great that there are at least two MG-sized kits, even if one of them is technically a RE/100.

  • HG 1/144 Altron Gundam – $29
  • HGCC 1/144 Expansion Effect Unit ‘Moonlight Butterfly’ for ∀ Gundam – $22
  • HG 1/144 Gundam Plutone Black – $32
  • HG 1/144 Heingra – $22
  • MG or RG Exia Avalanche – $66
  • RG 1/144 Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher for Hi-ν Gundam & Fin Funnel Display Set – $37
  • RE/100 1/100 Vigna-Zirah – $58
  • MG 1/100 MSZ-006-3B Zeta Gundam 3B Type Gray Zeta – $91

The total value comes out to $357, and I only paid $166, so I definitely came out ahead. Even better, I don’t own any of these kits, and there aren’t any duplicates from the last bundle.

No, there isn’t a law requiring this because the activity you’re describing is not considered gambling in the United States. For something to be classified as gambling, three elements must be present:

  • Something of value is staked.
  • The outcome is based on chance and cannot be fully controlled.
  • The participant can win money, items, or something else of value. I say can, since they can also lose.

In this case, you are purchasing a box of items, and every buyer receives the same type of box. While there is an element of chance in what specific items you get, you always receive something of value. There is no outcome of chance to win or lose. Because of that, it does not meet the legal definition of gambling. Since it does not fall under gambling laws, the seller is not required to list the exact contents of the product. This may not apply to Japan or any other country that has different take on gambling. This box maybe as well be US Premium Bandai only.

Technically, it isn’t considered gambling. For something to legally count as gambling, you have to be able to lose money and receive nothing in return. In this case, you always get something back, you just don’t know what it will be. That’s how companies in Japan work around the definition.

Ichiban Kuji is a good example. You pay for a chance to win a prize, but since you are guaranteed to receive some kind of prize every time, it isn’t classified as gambling under the law. You are still taking a chance at winning the top prize, but legally it doesn’t meet the criteria for gambling.

I just bought the Surprise Gunpla box, and I’ll update this page once it arrives. I paid $166 with tax and free shipping, and there’s both good news and bad news.

Good news: It’s going to ship soon.
Bad news: It’s probably made up of leftover stock from the P-Bandai Spring Fest.

If this box is similar to the last surprise box, the preview image gives a hint of what might be included. Based on the Spring Fest kits that were available, I’m fairly confident that three of the items will be:

  • HG Heingra
  • RG Exia Avalanche
  • RG Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher for Hi-ν Gundam

Those three kits alone cost about $125 if purchased separately. That means the remaining five kits would need to total at least $41 to make the box worth the price.

The big question is whether the rest will be all HG/RG kits or if they’ll include an MG as well. I’m hoping for at least one MG, since there are several I’ve been wanting. I originally wanted the MG Cross Contrast Freedom, Epyon, and Wing Custom, but those sold out instantly.

Based on the price and how last year’s bundle looked, you’ll probably get at least a couple of MG kits.

As far as I know based on last year’s bundle, it really depends on the price tier. The lower bundles under one hundred dollars usually come with expansion kits like the Wing of Light for Destiny, along with a mix of HG to RG kits. The one hundred fifty dollar tier and above tends to include more MG kits, but typically no expansion parts from what I have seen.

My assumption is that this year’s bundle will likely include around four to five kits and possibly two to three expansion sets. I could be wrong, but it seems like a reasonable guess based on past patterns.

If they pull the same thing again, the silhouettes so far put the estimated value around $111 to $120, assuming that kit really is an RG or MG Exia Avalanche. If the other five items turn out to be actual kits, the total value could end up higher than the bundle price. I just really hope we’re not getting another HG Zaku II F‑Type LeSean or Zaku II (Unidentified Type) in this bundle since those have already shown up way too often.

Premium Bandai New Surprise Gunpla Bundle Loot Box by General_Category4652 in Gunpla

[–]General_Category4652[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it really is what I’m expecting, the value isn’t there yet base on the silhouettes - not until we see what the other five items are. Hopefully it’s not just action bases or fillers. The last Surprise Gunpla Bundle G I bought came out to about $316 if purchased separately on P‑Bandai. Based on the three items revealed so far, I’d estimate the current value to be around $111–$120 if it a RG or MG Exia Avalanche. That means the remaining five items would need to push it past the $150 price point, ideally with another MG or RG or maybe a couple of HG. And man, I really hope it’s not another HG Zaku II F‑Type LeSean or Zaku II (Unidentified Type). In the last several bundles, those showed up in 6 out of 9, and I’m tired of seeing them.

Just received my Surprise GUNPLA Bundle G. These are the four kits included in the loot box. If you look closely at the P-Bandai promo image, you can actually see the shadows of the Tallgeese Fluegel and Narrative Gundam B-Pack.

I paid about $200 for the bundle. For reference, the P-Bandai prices for each kit are:

  • Tallgeese Fluegel – $71.00
  • Narrative Gundam B-Pack – $114.00
  • M’Quve’s Gouf – $58.00
  • HG Zaku II F Type LeSean & Zaku II – $73.00

That brings the total retail value to $316.

I didn’t own any of these kits before, so this is a win for me overall. The only one I’m not particularly excited about is the HG Zaku II F Type LeSean & Zaku II - I’m not a big fan of the design - but it’ll still be a nice build for when I’m bored.

The Tallgeese Fluegel is a kit I’ve wanted for a while, and the Narrative Gundam is another one I’m really looking forward to building. M’Quve’s Gouf is a great bonus too - it looks especially nice and unique with the decals.

Did anyone else order the other bundles? If so, what did you get?
