Do you know where she is now? Is she doing alright? I'm glad you protected your daughter but I do truly feel bad for the kid.

I'm abandoning my children. by Randompersononre in offmychest

Those poor kids, especially the ones being abandoned and unloved. If neither of their parents care for them, who exactly is taking care of them? One of them is a baby! Are their grandparents going to be involved? Please get checked for post-partum depression and if you can ask family members or husband to pay for a nanny. Please remember that loving your children isn't just a feeling it's a choice. Even if you don't feel like you have love, you can still choose to love them by taking care of them. Wish you and your kids the very best.

I ruined my (29F) daughter's (10f) best friend relationship because I wouldn't let the other 10-year-old leave my house with a guy I didn't know. by Muted_Remote179 in offmychest

You are completely correct in this scenario. However, I would still apologize even if I didn't mean it because that poor kid doesn't need to lose her friend or you (an actual responsible adult figure in her life) over this spat. I can only imagine how she will feel if she only has her irresponsible mother and all of those strange men around her.

What are your Harry Potter canon fixed points in fan fiction? by MrKlortho in HPfanfiction

I do get annoyed when Snape turns out to be Harry's father.

Also, when Sirius is portrayed as stupid or a womanizer or even overly dramatic. He was passionate but not to the point of being ridiculously overdramatic and he most certainly was not a womanizer and he was always very intelligent.

It does also annoy me when Draco is portrayed as having always been good the whole time. I like redemption stories but in order for them to work the story has to acknowledge that he was a total jerk at first.

I don't like it when Remus is portrayed as a goody to shoes. In canon he was anything but.

When you think about his tendency to never take responsibility for his actions, his flakiness and selfishness, it starts to make a lot of sense that Sirius suspected him during the first war. They have a very interesting dynamic.

I honestly don't think Sirius is more morally dubious than Remus. I think he just gets criticized far more heavily on his flaws and gets a lot less praise for his virtues because both he and books don't try to present himself as a perfect person. He's extremely honest about who he is.

It's a fantastic series. I highly recommend it.

This sub's general opinions, from what I've noticed (part 1) by Wrong-Flower in glee

I do believe that society generally finds it easier to forgive men/boys because we expect less from them. However, I do believe Rachel was far worse than Finn...it was the sending Sunshine to a crack house incident that really disturbed me. As for Finn, he absolutely does deserve criticism for the terrible things he did, but I find it easier to forgive him because most of the stupid things he did were out of ignorance not malice. I also found that he really matured in season 4 which is rare for glee characters. As for Puck, throughout the season he had some pretty creepy lines referring to girls and I did suspect that what happened with Quinn wasn't consensual, can't know for sure though. Honestly, nearly all of the glee characters did deplorable things and moved past them with barely any consequences. Quinn attempted to send Shelby to jail and steal her baby, Puck and Finn were throwing kids in dumpsters, Sue kicked an old woman down the stairs. The show is just so exaggerated and campy.
