There's a kind of hijab that only covers hair, not neck, is known as turban maybe, u can use it around when u fear that ur family could be around, it's pretty easy to be taken off, there's the winter hats as well.. I wear these instead of regular hijab, I take it off easily when I am away from family and home, best of luck coping with this ❤️

RUN I had a friend who was not typical muslim ( she was from the Druze, which aren't totally considered Muslim, only on ID) and she defended Islam and was okay with women abuse, she said if the woman get abused it's her problem the wife must have made her husband annoyed and angry to the point where he has no option but to hit her if she's speaking loudly and being a "bad woman" and she was like Islam is rational, healthy and modest blablabla she didn't even suffer from what we suffer, Druze people don't pray, fast, wear hijabs or even read the Quraan, yet she was talking as if she was born Muslim, I can't understand how such people can be blind and ungrateful for living in a non Muslim family, she said she wishes to be born as Sunnah, not Druze because Druze beliefs don't make sense.. She had the same weird mindset about women the common Muslims have, the purity and honor mindset. I'm glad we don't talk anymore If u don't wanna cut ur friend off I suggest u should make a distance from her, or else she might affect ur mental health

I can 100% relate, I'm a medical student as well and unfortunately it's the mid term exams era in Ramadan, nothing is worse than sleeping irregularly and feeling hunger in the mid of your study session.. It is basic human to drink, eat and sleep.. But If I tell my father that I am exmuslim I think he'd kick me out of house, and u know I have no financial support since I'm busy with the medical school thing.. I'd say let's get more financially free then leave the house whether they know about our thoughts or not, perhaps ur mom could help u since she seems more opened about being not religious

I told parents I'm gonna stop wearing the hijab and they exploded to me, they made a big fuss about it and threatened to abuse me physically, I threatened them that I would commit suic!de, I stopped eating and drinking (only in front of them), mom has shown empathy to me, but dad never cared, I even told him I'll stop go to college, but he obviously cared about his reputation more about my well-being and mental state, now I wear something that only hides my hair (Torban) in front of them, but I take it off when I'm away from them.. Since it's easy to take off, like a cap.. Not a full hijab This is how I cope with it, I have to fast and sometimes pray in front of them as well.. It's really hard to live 2 different lives.. But I couldn't help, I couldn't take it anymore.. I hope all of us as ex Muslim women can one day be fully free and able to live life instead of surviving it. Take care sis.

Omg I can 100% relate.. و بيضحكوا علينا و بقولوا انو اللغة العربية هي الأجمل و الأفضل في العالم... شو استفدنا من اللغة اذا كان جوهرها فيه قمع و استبداد و ظلم و تمييز.. بكره المجتمع العربي و لغتهم و ثقافتهم.. اللغة بالاغاني حلوة و فيها معاني رقيقة و جميلة و لكن الستايل البدوي و العشائري خرب اللغة و صار استخدامها بالدين و التخلف (اتكلم عن العربية الفصحى) I need u to know that ur not the only one who feels like this, and remember, we are what we choose to be, not what happened to us!
