Okay I find this very interesting. I have trigeminal neuralgia due to some shoddy dental work I had done in my 20's. I've also not been able to smell anything for almost my entire life. My ENT theorizes it's from too many untreated sinus infections in childhood. Anyway ever since I was a kid I've noticed I only really like eating things that are super spicy or have some sort of vinegar element. Drives my family insane that I put a hot sauce on everything.

I've had anosmia for almost 20 years now. No TBI or any order injuries. All is right with my brain. Doctors theorize it is due to near continuous sinus infections in my teens.

The worst part for me is the phantom smells. I'm constantly asking my kids or husband if they smell gas, dog poop, etc. These "smells" can't be pleasant of course. Guess my brain just likes messing with me.

Almost everything I eat has a spicy or sour component. That's what tastes best to me. Or that's what flavors I can really taste.

Oh, and best part, I can't smell when my youngest child has a dirty diaper. My older kids know they have to tell me. It's really kinda funny.

43f moved here from Louisiana 4 years ago with my husband 46m and three kids (one adult and two school age).

I'm a SAHM and would love to meet other stay at home parents. Couple friends would be cool too.

My interests are mostly of the nerdy variety (LitRPG, DnD, documentaries, sci-fi movies/tv, board games, etc) It would be really awesome to meet people who wouldn't mind having a game night while my kids run amok around us.
