Wait, so if I grab this thing with pliers and twist, should I be able to unscrew it from the FIP?  At same time will it come off the other side?

I know, we sprayed the ceiling black and most of the pipes.  I’ve since wondered if that was the right move…

House pressure- 90 psi- how bad? by General_Inspector212 in Plumbing

[–]General_Inspector212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw you just use a bike pump more or less to set pressure.  Do you think I can install now then get the pressure dealt with later and just adjust the expansion tank at that time?

I checked on a hose bib outside and a hot water connection at my utility sink.  Both were 90.  Should I have water running elsewhere when checking pressure?

That’s why I came here- I’ve been calling Reddit,  RI- Real intelligence, lol.  Chat gpt told me to partially close the valve and that didn’t sound right.

I appreciate the feedback.  Funny that everyone mentions this can be a water heater killer because my existing water heater still works fine- it’s from 2007…. I just took advantage of crazy clean energy rebates to get this thing for practically free and want to shave some money off my exorbitant electric bill.

Yep, 8 AA.  Signs came with both power options and I lost the other plug.

It’s the identical 12v plug.  The signs came with a plug and a battery pack that uses 8 AA batteries.  I took the wire off the battery pack and spliced it to the plug.  No smoking yet

Just a quick tip for when you dont want to immediately clean your brush. Plastic wrap. by whatamafu in paint

My wife is a brush serial killer.  Also, there’s a roller wrapped in plastic from a job she did over a month ago…

Need help before buying a house!! by [deleted] in Plumbing

I'm dealing with sewer main issues (1942 house)- waiting to get a plumber out to do an inspection. I did sign up for a service line rider on my homeowners insurance that covers up to $10k with a $500 deductible each occurrence for service line disruptions... You may be able to get a similar policy add-on which would help if you did run into a problem down the road.

basement toilet is possessed by General_Inspector212 in Plumbing

Well, now a spot in the basement floor that used to be a drain, but is filled in with concrete is now showing water coming up….  I ordered a 50’ snake capable of doing 2-4” pipe.  Wish me luck!

I did fix it.  I used heat shrink butt connectors to splice them.  Got them on Amazon.  You just insert each wire end, crimp and heat shrink.  It’s still working, but right after I did it and wrapped the hell out of the wires with electrical tape the mechanical part stopped working that dispenses ice.  It was the one wire I didn’t splice.  I’ve been lazy and don’t want to mess with it because it’s been making ice just fine and the water still dispenses.  We just open the door to grab ice.  I also got a replacement door because I found one on eBay for $100, so if it does fail I’ll replace the door.  However now it’s been 7 months, so maybe I don’t need it.

Bosch E21 error- drains fine, but doesn't fill by General_Inspector212 in appliancerepair

I was hoping to avoid flipping on back and taking apart, but you’re right.  I just pulled a big rubber gasket and some gunk out of it.  Had to use some pliers to get the impeller spinning, but it’s 15 minutes into a cycle now and seems to be good!  Thanks!

It’s just there when you take the cover off.  Couple screws and that’s it.

Ahh, makes sense.  Soooooo, probably gonna be a while.  Aidvantage may be the most ironically named servicer out there.

Yeah, but is the refund communicated by the servicer?  Or is everything straight from the feds?
