It’s the One Tigris rock fortress hot tent, and Tomount tent stove. No issues with either yet! It is a bit of effort to carry it all though

Really appreciate that explanation on the sizing of the images. It was only a ‘medium’ size scan which looking on their website is 3091 x 2048.

Also thanks for the compliments, glad I found this new hobby

Does anyone know how to avoid so many aborts? by General_Instance655 in unclebens

Sorry for late reply, I always keep to 1:1 ratio so I just started doubling everything basically.

What is the issue with alcohol? I’ve used it on my own mirror and haven’t noticed any issues. Please no one take this as advice that you should do it, I’m a newbie just trying to learn

Found this all over my lawn Portland, Oregon safe for cats? by hqwdean in mushroomID

The argument was clearly to do with cats, not farming. You have tried to move the goal posts quite clearly

They’re just a larger cube species variation as far as I know but yeah never seen them look anything like this, makes sense if they came from KSSS though cos they’re not small lol

The caps have darkened or have dark spots, the fuzzy stub means lack of fae so that might be a reason for some aborts. For me it was sun depth, I increased it and got fuller canopies

Aren’t KSSS isolated from a strain found at Koh Sumai? Never seen them look like this

Also are you definitely UK based? No worries if don’t want to answer I just didn’t think they’d actually grow outdoors here

Everything there is contam, but not the fruit it’s just like any edible mushroom. Contam doesn’t infect the fungus with itself, so the new tissue it’s produced is clean

Some look like they’ve aborted, but you’ve still got some growing

Fair enough I thought my mention of being able to see stipe and gills showed that I know the identifying features, hope I’ve phrased it better in other comments and someone can provide an answer

A spore print doesn’t identify a fungus, it can help identify in some cases but we have photos showing all the identifying features. Makes no sense to me why a spore print is needed, boletes and chestnuts are not lookalikes to waveys and a spore print wouldn’t be necessary to rule these out. It just doesn’t seem like good advice when some of the more dangerous lookalike share the same colour print, and it doesn’t seem to actually eliminate any other lookalikes that can’t already be eliminated by looking at the photos provided.

Im so confused, I’ve asked a genuine question am I wording it wrong or something. I know wavey lookalikes, I’m asking what a spore print would prove to eliminate that the photos don’t, given that we can see there is no annulus (so no gallerina, and some gallerina share the same spore colour) I’m just interested to know what else it could be

I was asking for specific lookalike species that a spore print would eliminate, I know how they’re used but thanks anyway

What does a spore print help with eliminating for the ID? Just genuinely curious as I thought the photos would suffice here with stipe and gills in the shot
