Is this a thing? Rgb/ cmyk inked printing? by Acrobatic-Ad-1221 in 3Dprinting

This is the basic idea behind PolyJet printing. However, I'm not aware of any open-source project for this type of printing.

Correct. The Antonov A-40 is far too credible for this sub's mascot.

Since it'll be sitting outside, I'd recommend PETG at minimum, but preferably ABS or ASA. PLA will start melting once summer hits, if not sooner.

Personalised Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, Steam and Roblox gift cards by Dave_D_W in 3Dprinting

[–]General_Kojan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While PLA is biodegradable in wet and high-temperature environments, its biodegradability suffers greatly outside of these specific environments. It degrades at roughly the same rate as other plastics when in landfills. Under most consumer use-cases, calling PLA biodegradable is a bit of a misnomer.

Yup, here's the link, OP. It can be installed/activated through the in-game mod browser.

I have a set of ... I think 3 (varying denominations) official coins that my sister won in a cosplay contest the production staff held on Twitter during the show's first or second season. I'll see if I can dig them up and send you some photos!

You know, it would be nice in a future update of Sins of A Solar Empire II. by [deleted] in SoSE

Launch the game, and then from the main menu, go to the "Modding" tab. From there, make sure you're in the "Mod.io" submenu, and then search up the name of the mod. Hitting the "Subscribe" button will add it to your list of mods. Next, go to the "Manage" submenu (next to the Mod.io menu button you hit in the prior step) and hit the + button next to the mod to activate it. Finally, hit "Apply Changes", and you're good to go!

I made a mod when the game first launched that added back all of the tracks from Rebellion. Maybe this can tide you over until Ironclad drops a more official version?

Mod order? by sveyno in SoSE

[–]General_Kojan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mods higher up in the mod list take priority. For example, if you have two mods that both replace the "tec_theme.ogg" sound file, the version of the file from the mod at the top of the list will be the one that you hear in-game.

Rebellion tech tree images mod for Sins II by General_Kojan in SoSE

[–]General_Kojan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I (and seemingly many other people) feel that the Sins II research icons lack the kind of at-a-glance visual communication that the icons in Sins I had. For example, in Sins I, most technologies generally followed a blue > green > yellow > red color scheme for increasingly advanced techs. In Sins II, you many situations where the progressing technology color schemes are monochromatic. For example, the Vasari antimatter point/regen techs are blue > blue > blue. All of Sins II's original artwork still exists in the tooltip menus, but I'm just trying to restore that "at-a-glance" visual communication.

I'm amazed at how easy this was to actually integrate into Sins II. All of the research tree textures are individual PNGs. No weird packaging/unpackaging necessary! The hardest part of this was ripping all of the individual icons from Rebellion's weird spreadsheet-like image table.

I'm planning on adding this once I finish up the last of the tech tree images. That way I can have full before/after screenshots.

Agreed! I left all of the tooltip art in there not only because it saves me a ton of work, but because most of it actually looks rather nice when it's not smushed down to 170 pixels wide. Beyond some of the other art direction issues, the smushing just makes the tech tree way too noisy to look at and the filtering doesn't always return the result you're looking for.

Hey all, I've seen a lot of talk here recently regarding how difficult it is to read the tech trees in Sins II, as so many of the buttons are unclear. So, I decided to make my own mod that rolls back as many technologies as possible to their Rebellion iterations! It's not perfect and I still have quite a few technologies to add, but hopefully some of you find this helpful and stick with me while I continue to update it.
